well this is an hour of my life I will never get back,
why is this right in the middle of kernelos Assembly.

#include <cafe/os.h>
#include <string.h>
static int malloc_force_include_memset = 0;
static int malloc_force_include_memcpy = 0;
int rpl_entry(void *p, int i)
{
if (i == 0xcafedead)
{
/* force include of memset and memcpy, so it will be defined when malloc is pulled in */

memset(&malloc_force_include_memset, 0, sizeof(malloc_force_include_memset));
memcpy(&malloc_force_include_memcpy, &malloc_force_include_memset, sizeof(malloc_force_include_memcpy));
}
return 0;
}

IDA hurts my brain %-D

Would a thread dedicated to game modding and file formats be useful? I would add it to the OP on here but it'd probably have numerous replies and just get more cluttered, we're already at 946 pages :P (not just dedicated to Smash but every game)
I've also been planning to add descriptions of all the available tools and methods to the OP here since that's much more manageable and findable, haven't found the energy yet but
EDIT: Also I'll probably need some help since I only have experience with 5.5.X since that's what I'm using and haven't really been following all the troubleshooting on lower FWs

So I'm getting 5.3.2 console tomorrow , now waiting for the online to work with loadiine and DLC :P
now that the NX is confirmed to be out on march 2017 I think the hackers won't keep their stuff private

Zelda U is launching on the NX too. Wii U is pretty much dead at this point.

I just sold yesterday my 5.5.1 console so I'm getting a 5.3.2 console tomorrow , If the announcment was last week I wouldn't have sold the 5.5.1 console lol

Two things to consider, my friend.
1. Tubehax DNS
2. Wifi SD card (Optional, but useful to keep yourself offline, even though Tubehax alone can block automatic updates perfectly fine.

Do NOT forget these things, and you will be fine. Basically never setup a naked internet connection that has no custom DNS setup with Tubehax DNS. And never use standby, just turn that feature off.

Loadiine works great for most games, but you'll find a few that have long loading times such as Zelda Twilight Princess HD and Super Mario 3D World.
It's the best thing we have in the Wii U hacking scene I'd say.

I'm not even sure if we should even look forward to any 5.5.1 exploits anymore, I can't see it ever happening at this rate. I mean is the IOSU exploit even a thing, or was it completely made up as a scheme to trick us all? I told my friends to stop waiting on it and just stick to what they have now. All you need on Wii U is the few online games it has anyways.
Wii U is pretty boring imo, I have a 5.3.2 Wii U setup and I never even play it at all. Without online play, it's very dull. Still debating on spoofing or not. From what I know, when you spoof your firmware, you still have to always keep Tubehax DNS on at all times. Never an instance where you actually remove it.

A question: Is the gamepad powerful enough to run emulators on its own?
Hmm... Not sure about emulators but the gamepad actually has a cpu(microcontroller?) and I don't think it's slower than an arduino so we should be able to run the most basic programs, modding the gamepad firmware. But it's so difficult and risky that I see no reasons to do that when we could simply run programs in userspace

If Nintendo was so kind to make them available for purchase at a low price in case one needs repair, more people would do it, I guess! :D

The gamepad is not a standalone system. It can't run anything on its own without a Wii U. The Wii itself could easily emulate stuff though.
I see...I was just wondering how cool it would be to use the gamepad to run older games, the screensize is good and the controller itself feels very comfortable.

Well, I guess it is for the best...the gamepad is already expensive as it is.
