Hmm... I kinda see what you mean now that I scrolled through the back-end of the video.
Even tho I don't really get why it's laggy at all, the 3DS has, both screens combined, such a tiny resolution yet fails to stream properly.

I just checked and my 3DS's WiFi speed max's out at 54 MBit/s for some reason... Maybe it's not capable of a newer standard?

How can I check my 3DS's wifi speed? I'd like to know how my wifi/transfer speed is.

I can check the current state of the device on my router itself, I'm using OpenWRT tho.
Hmm... I'll look into it. There's got to be some way of finding out if I check my router as well.

Anyway, I'll leave my vid capture test here. I've got to say, it's pretty good! Currently running at around 30-35 FPS! ^_^

That's a limitation of b/g/n routers, and unfortunately, the 3DS doesn't support a/n connections. If it did, it'd be a lot faster. At least I assume. It also depends on the protocol NTR uses for streaming. If it's just sending compressed JPEGs, this is much slower than using an actual streaming API. If it utilized a DLNA server, it would be much faster.

Yeah, then again we only have so much to work with before it affects the game's speed. A full blown server would probably be a bit too much, including compression then.

Not really. If a bare minimum RaspPi can act as a media server and stream at 1080p, an N3DS should be able to do it at less than 480p. But if all NTR is ever going to use is compressed JPEGs, don't get your hopes up as it will never become something very useful. Though it wouldn't have to use a server per se, but just a better protocol.

But the 3DS has far less power than a Raspberry has, besides the 3DS also has to render and run the game then, a Raspberry acting as a streaming server has nothing more to do than just compressing the video on-the-fly and streaming it, a 3DS would have to do that and the game at the same time on a even more limited processor and GPU.
