PC Audio/Video/Mouse Glitching and Stutter

Like the title says, oddly enough from yesterday I started to get some really bad stuttering and glitching on my pc. Any kind of operation; browsing, using the explorer, or gaming, stutters like shit every few minutes and the audio, if there is any, slows down like it's on slow motion and makes weird glitching noise, including the video too. Tried restarting, checking the task manager to see if any program is doing this, but no. But I did see there are spikes in my CPU usage:

Any ideas how to fix this or why is it happening? ;-;

One of the resource monitors will also cover CPU time, not sure where it is on later versions of windows offhand but it should be an option somewhere. If you can not catch the offending application by watching the task manager then hopefully you could figure it out after the fact.

What are your temperatures like in this? If the thing gets throttled to cool off then it could see something like this happen.

I think I found it.

I updated the nvidia drivers, it seems to be fixed for the most part, or fully fixed, have to check more though.
The temperatures were one of the first things I checked, the CPU temperature stood out; 50 celcius, it's not bad, but it's not what I have usually (30-40).

I've had this since updating to Windows 10. I've learned to just restart the computer and it helps for a while. What kickstarts it is opening a lot of tabs, most of which being streams. So yeah, that can take its toll on the memory, but with 32GB RAM, it's not much in the long run. I disabled CPU throttling and such, I've learned to just live with it. My GPU drivers are updated, NVIDIA GTX 980TIs.

Are you overclocking, by any chance? I had something like this, but on 8.1, and it was fixed by using a dynamic vcore and multiplier instead of setting it manually.

Nope, only thing I'm overclocking is iirc the RAM to 1600mhz, which it can do as advertised.

Yeah, it sounds like audio is put through a blender for at least a second. I'd use latency mon, and it would catch spikes in measured interrupt to process latency, sometimes ISR or DPC routing execution times.

Nope, only thing I'm overclocking is iirc the RAM to 1600mhz, which it can do as advertised.

Have you tried setting it to 1333MHz instead? Also check if there's an XMP profile turned on in it, sometimes setting the speed manually can cause instability because it's not getting the correct voltage.

I've not had any problems, and I've been using Insider builds since last January. Sounds like your processor is choking somewhere for whatever reason.

Nope, never tried 1333MHz, I have a Kingston 8gb (single stick) DDR3 RAM stick, but that's all I know, I'll have to pull my pc apart to check, which I can't do right now. But if this helps:

Nope, ever since I upgraded to windows 10 there have been many problems, game performance, program load times, compatibility issues etc. If you google just a little bit about the problems with windows 10 you can find many people with big issues, I don't think it's my CPU.

Then do a fresh install rather than an upgrade. Issues like this have existed since directly upgrading from Vista to 7 came to be. It's common knowledge that the Windows "upgrade" process between major releases is a crap chute.

According to that, your RAM is running at 1330MHz, not 1600 (where it says DRAM frequency, multiply that by two and it gives you your "effective" or real speed, so it should be 800 for 1600MHz). Still not sure if that is what could be giving you trouble, but it would be worth checking if you can enable XMP in your bios.

As for saying Windows 10 works perfectly or sucks, that will differ depending on each person's hardware, just like how some people ran Vista for years without problems, while others couldn't even open the image viewer without the whole thing crashing (like me).

Though personally, I think Windows 10 is an abomination and would recommend changing back to 8.1 or 7.

That's what I'm planning to do, just need to buy a good fast external drive.

Yeah maybe, but I loved windows 7, it was perfect. On 10, I can't even run GTA V, my keyboard doesn't work on it and alt tabbing the game crashes it, never fixed it since. I'm gonna try clean installing 10 when I can.

I did a re-install of Windows 10 multiple times, upgrade or clean install. It fixes the stutter problem, but then it returned.

Good idea, I've never thought of that. I need to backup around 250 gigs and have around 130 gigs of free space, I can work something out thanks.
