Did you by any chance miss that hykem was raided by authorities and there will never be anything from him?
No, I also didn't miss the months worth work he has done and shared on reverse engineering IOSU in the wiiubrew wiki, nor the fact that other developpers already working and preparing things with it, nor the fact other people (like MN1) know the bug and have an idea on what hykem did...

It's just I find that all these speculations and debates are worthless and non productive.

I think it's time that people stop posting negative stuff about Hykem ... Actually it was time to stop when it all started. The guy is a talented dev that worked hard on this and documenting his work while getting shit on by the people he was working for. He only made 1 tiny mistake .. announce it here. So yeah keep asking the other devs to announce something now that you crucified the last dev who announced something.

1 tiny mistake? Try 5 or 6.

Exactly, proof of everything Hykem contributed to this scene (not just iosu) can even be found in this very thread...rewind about a year and go from there...just saying

the only one i can blame is myself. i had a 5.3.2 that i modified vwii the first day i owned it thanks to tips provided here, thought that was all i'd ever be able to do, and my dumbass updated:wacko:

I agree but there has to be something to actually postpone in the first place?
There was something ... why do the people keep believing that he didn't do anything? Cause you haven't seen it? Air exist and you can't see it.

i feel almost sorry for hykem, but i think it was partially his fault !?

because he said he has it and he would release it etc.
and he has not done that, maybe it was not ready and he has lot of issues with his life now,

but in the end it looks like it was his mistake to give release dates etc.
i am not surprised that he probably has more haters now than fans.

but i am wondering about the whole raiding thing, was it all just fake? i read here somewhere stating it was just clickbait thing.
so was it clickbait or was the guy really ..raided? :/

Ahh please .. he couldn't finish it on time so he postponed it. About the raid, do you know who Crediar is? If you did you wouldn't ask that question.

We don't know what happen, maybe his plan was release the IOSU exploit in a due time frame but other stuff get along the way, he even would stump with a technic roadblock, it's not strange in software develoment, even big game companies realize that certain hurdles are impossible to bypass and halt the development altogether, it happens alot. Heck, how many times Nintendo itself has delayed their games after giving a solid release date.

People decide get mad because they don't get what they want, but that's life. See the bright side Hyken research will not wasted, it's available for other people to look into it.

There's no deny that Hykem is a talented guy, he constantly offers information on the wiki, so other developers can use it, I have no reason to think he made up this raid stuff, because he doesn't need fulfill a work contract with gbatemp or something, the wiki alone shows his comminment with the scene, hopefully other devs can use these documents, and it seems it is already happening, as always cautiosly optimistic.

How's it going with your project? :)
It's moving along.
I've completed the ARM fw.img+boot0.bin+boot1.bin ELF image decoding in both IDA and back to C++

Looks a bit like this (small sample, pastebin doesn't fit the whole thing...)
http://pastebin.com/XAv7En3S (I made sure there are no keys of any type in this tiny little slice of the code)

Know this.
None of this will be of any use to anyone unless a true kernel exploit is released.
(and do not expect it to come from me... I'm into CFW only!)

So you got pseudo-code from compiled image :)
Nice work! :)

Yes, I had to deal with a few "bugs" in Hex-Ray's to get all of the different segments to post cleanly, but it's there now.
One lone NOP was needed to clear what looks to be a lame attempt at obfuscating some of the code.
(or maybe it was just a true "bug" in Hex-Rays...)

The QEMU/GDB capable segments look like this:

It's a non public beta of the kernel exploit ? Personnaly i don't understand a lot how does it work (i've just small lessons of C )
