So, I've always loved Pokemon since I was maybe 5 or 6. I play it to this day, as it is probably my favorite gaming franchise. I think we'd all be lying if we've never thought at least ONCE "I'd like to make a pokemon-game" or something along those lines. I've always had this once specific idea that I think would be AMAZING! So, here it goes!

To start off, this game could either be single-player or multiplayer. You, the protagonist, get to start in any region of your choice! Maybe even add some more regions to the game to add more fun to it (You'll see why soon). Once you have chosen your region to start in, it is your goal to become the champion of that region! And I mean THE CHAMPION of that region! No, not the silly, "Oh, you beat the champion! You're a champion, but you're not going to lead the Elite 4..." I think it would be amazing if you could actually be the champion! BUT it won't be that easy to beat the Champion and the Elite 4! No no no, it will be difficult. You may be thinking, "Okay, you just stated every Pokemon game ever except you actually become the champion" WRONG! I'm not done! This is where the multi-player part comes in! Once you're the champion, you are eligible to compete in a Global championship among the other Champions of other regions! What does the competition give you, though? If you defeat the other champions in a battle, you move up the bracket! It's like a basketball tournament! Once it's the final two, they just battle it out! Whoever wins among them, goes on to fight the WORLD CHAMPION! If you win, you become the next World Champion! I love the idea of just being a regular champion as it is! If this game were to be multiplayer, you could roam your region and people would think, "Holy crap, that's our champion! He's online!" Yes, there would be player interaction too!

You see, I feel as if there could be a lot more potential to this game! There's a lot more that I would want to add to this game, but I won't bore you with that. Please, if you want to add more, tell me your suggestions! What else would be cool?

In 2009 I made a concept called Pokémon Infra-Red and Ultra-Violet which was more of an open-world experience in the sense that towns and areas don't have solid boundaries and players could explore areas and challenge gyms in any order of their choice (gym leaders no longer have fixed parties and levels, and difficulty will be adaptive based on the player's current stats). Multiplayer mode could be expanded beyond just battling, other trainers across the world can join the player and explore the map together.

(Another completely different game concept I had long ago):
A game where instead of being the hero, you play as a member of Team Rocket and only have access to Pokémon like Zubats. The game would be less focused on Pokémon battles and more on the plot and character development. Possibly the character had a legitimate reason for joining Team Rocket or they simply had no choice and were forced to join. In a sense, the player would see a more human side of the generic antagonists from the original games rather than just mass-identical NPCs.

It would be a drastically different style of Pokémon game and probably will never happen but hey, it's an idea.

Maybe there should be a thread to isolate these ideas. A thread that contains not only concepts for Pokémon, but other titles and/or original stuff. Maybe some of the ideas could work as an inspiration for homebrew and game developers here. (So long as they give credit or act with permission)

Edit: I am aware that there is already a sticky like this in the 3DS Homebrew and Development Forum, but maybe we should have a thread that includes designs for homebrew on other platforms. Or maybe we could have a General Gaming Discussion sticky where people just throw ideas around, idk.

it's kinda the idea of a MMOpokemon, you battle real trainer on the jouney and have the champion title to handle until you get beatem
Being the evil team or a hero could be like jobs on MOOrpg as well

Haha I like those ideas. I kind had and idea like you're first, but then I thought of the one in the OP and though it would have a bigger and better concept to it.

Everytime i play Pokémon, i try to deeply analyze some of the contents in it, so my idea of a Pokémon game would be something like this:
You begin your journey normally, as every Pokémon game, get your starter, the pokedex, running shoes... etc, in the first road of the game, you see a mysterious trainer, he looks at you and just say: "Not yet, too weak" and vanishes, so, as you continue playing the game, you get some badges and meet the villains of that game, a organization who wants just chaos and havoc in the world, who already liberated the game legendary (or the other version legendary) and it is using it to dominate everyone in your land, the leader looks at you as it knows something and leaves, someone in the crowd sees it and start just hating you for that, becoming your rival/hero wannabe, fight him and the colorful world starts getting darker, the villains start dominating the region and take the gyms and the elite four, at this rate, the champion was gone, and you have to defeat the villains, on each gym, on each route, on each city/town (building a resistance with online friends) and pissing the king villain off, til it comes to you, and try to intimidate you (and your team), and proceeds to battle you, beating the shit out of you with his op legendary
After all this, you wake up in a Pokémon center, gather your Pokémons, pass the victory road, go to the elite four, beats off the corrupted four, and reach the King again, stronger, maturer, proceeding to beat him and making him fall apart, after that, credits roll and you reach the second part of the game where all the real gym leaders are back in place, and you have to defeat them to enter the hall of fame, beating the real champion and gathering access to the masters mountain, where just the best trainers go to test their strength on each other, these masters all being the most difficult challenges in all pokémon games (I'm thinking the other gen protagonists, buffed to death champions [Cynthia would be a nightmare], veteran trainers) and in the end, you would find the mysterious figure of the beginning, who would be the strongest of trainers, with a full lv.100 legendary team, with the most intense fight in the series, where if you win, he would give you these legendaries and the game ends there

Okay, that is epic. I applaud you. Why aren't we working at Pokemon?!
