Hi all,

yesterday I converted my Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D retail game to .3ds and from there to .cia w/o a problem (used Simple CIA Converter).

After I installed it, the 3DS told me that there is an update available for this game, which got me confused, because right before I converted this game to CIA I was pretty sure that there is no update available for this game on eShop (and I couldn't find an update as CIA on the net).

I clicked OK to update and the progress bar went from 0%-99% within a few seconds and then gave me an error (007-6106).

I then went to the eShop and searched for the game and saw that there is indeed some sort of update??
It's not like Pokemon where it says v1.1 or something like that, it's just the product page of the game and on the bottom screen there is an "Update" button, which gives me the same result as the home screen method.

After that things got crazy ... I uninstalled the game and went to the eShop again to see if I still get this "Update" button on the bottom screen. But on the product page the eShop allowed me to actually download the game like I owned it already??
It also threw an error after it reached 99% but I mean what the hell?, what is going on? Why is it showing me an update for a game which doesn't have an update? And why does the 3DS think I own this game now on eShop ?

I know I can just use UpdateSurpressor to remove this nag, but I want to understand what the reason is behind this behavior and what I could have done (during the CIA creation) to prevent things like this in the future.

I have the feeling that there are game updates (as in patches) out there and completely updated game versions on the eShop which the 3DS tried to install for me?

Hope you guys can put some sense in that for me :D

Regards,
iCEQB

idk i've never used a cia converter but i've had this issue and found fixed a version on a certain site.

I wonder where I could set this up properly.
I also looked at the old method with the .rsf insanity, but even there I don't see where I could set the game version.

Speaking about the version, how do I know which one is the latest on eShop and how do I know which one is in my posession? :D

you may need a more complex converter to mess with that.

This used to happen with my cia of Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX. The game doesn´t have any updates but, the cia was marked as version 0.0.0, while in the eShop it is 0.0.1, so the 3DS checks this and thinks it needs to update.

When it tries to update, it starts to download the whole game (because there are no update files, only the game files) but, when it reaches 99%, it checks that you haven´t bought the game properly and crash.

I didn´t solve this, but someone managed to change the version in the game file and generate a fixed cia for me, so the only thing I know is that it´s possible.

I saw this here on github:

https://github.com/roxas75/rxTools/issues/372

it seems to be the same issue we have.
Do you think your source can share his method to fix this issue?

Thanks!
