You would still need your cfw to support new firm, so it's useless since you can run new frimwares on old native firms, but you need new patches for new native firms. Or am I missing something?

I thought Reinand had an auto-searching feature for the patches? I might be wrong. Lol.

So, I just got my OTP (whew!) and I'm all set up to compile. Can I compile and install with dark_samus' fork, or is that just the update for an already installed A9LH?

Does anyone know how the ctrbootmanager port is going for a9lh?
I'm actually working on it. I have most of it working but with a different configuration file. So I'm porting libconfig to arm9 actually to have the same bevhior. I won't be able to work on it this week end but I guess it should be ready in the next week (except 3dsx loading)

cheers for the status

looking forward to this, thank you

3dsx loading won't ever happen

Well, I'm not 100% sure of that. Maybe with firmlaunch.
Well, good luck injecting the payload correctly, as hax2+ exploits home menu, without breaking anything, and supporting all system versions (or at least 9.0+).
(Plus having the choice to select between sysNAND or emuNAND, which services, with a k11 exploit or not, etc)

Thanks. Will be nice when it's not necessary to switch to old firm for full access on current firmware, that's probably the last main thing still missing.

I'm working on it atm (not officially). If it happens, it will take a while. The best way to do it right now requires some trickery to do.
The bright side is it looks like a9lh could be optional for this to happen, but don't take anything for granted.

This means a9lh is still needed for sysnand and emunand to be independent, but without it could still allow chainloading D9 as cia on emunand, and possibly getting back to homemenu after it.

So, since we can load Decrypt9 immediately upon booting now, I won't have to worry about bricking my unit since I have backups of my NANDs? Or is there still a way to brick it in a way that you'd need to do a hardmod to restore it again? Just wanna make sure.

For n3ds users that get an instant shut off on a9lh updater: keep trying. Eventually it didn't shut off and I was able to press A to update and finally have screen init! :D

If something touches FIRM0/1 (like a theoretical dedicated bricking tool, unprotected system updates, restoring a full backup from D9 that doesn't have A9LH or is from another system, unknown future things) then A9LH is lost and you're either bricked or on latest firmware without a paddle.
No such evil tool actually exists (yet, to my knowledge) and AuReiNAND (likely others to follow) protects FIRM0/1 from official updates, so most causes for breaking things can be recovered from with A9LH.
Unless you mess up FIRM0/1 with D9, then that's your own fault.
