I just tried it and it just shuts off the console. If I power it back on then it still doesn't do anything.
Also shuts off if I press any other button then.

normal, if pressing A it shuts off, you updated and can re-install AuReinand.

That means it worked, now put back the payload (arm9loaderhax.bin file) you were using before.

Oh that makes sense, considering the old one was the actual one to boot AuReinand. Thanks for your help guys!

I just wanna report that updating was successful on my old 3ds XL and it showed the splash immediately!

Here's a tiny tutorial for AuReiNAND users who don't wanna scroll back a few pages (this might not be the correct procedure on new 3ds)

This worked for me right now, I installed the original arm9loaderhax a few days ago:

1. Get installer.zip from here
2. Rename install.bin to arm9loaderhax.bin
3. Rename your AuReiNAND arm9loaderhax.bin (to something like arm9loaderhaxRenameMeAfterUpdate.bin)
4. Copy arm9loaderhax.bin (renamed from installer.bin) and stage0x5C000.bin into the root of the sd card
5. Boot up your 3ds, press A to update. It'll shut itself off after a really short time.
6. Put the sd card back into your pc and delete arm9loaderhax.bin and stage0x5C000.bin. You don't need those anymore.
7. Rename your AuReiNAND arm9loaderhaxRenameMeAfterUpdate.bin back to arm9loaderhax.bin
8. Boot up your 3ds and you're done!

It takes less than a second from power on for the top screen to appear, but then what feels like 30 seconds for the bottom screen.

I'm gonna transfer everything to a smaller card and test.

128gb cards will boot a lot slower. My original a9lh took around 17 seconds, after installing the screen init update, it takes around 24 seconds now. Not sure why the added time though (screen turns on for around 10 seconds, goes black for like 6 seconds, and then turns again for 8 seconds before booting aureinand)

Using a Sandisk extreme pro 64gb, the screen init version added 1.5 seconds to my boot time, no biggie tbh

Yeah, there is a big difference in boot times in 64gb vs 128gb though (It is a trade-off but I enjoy the extra space over an extra 10 seconds of boot time)

It is one of the main reason i sold my 128gb Sandisk and bought 2 x 64gb instead

i will try on mine. ( i am backuping every file now) (is it hard to port stuff? is it needed to know how to program?)

How do i get this setup working with a bootloader in which if i press a key it opens decrypt9?
