Is there a way to install CIAs on gateways emunand?
just use the cia installer (i think its bigbluemenu) included with the gateway ultra download to install a 3ds.cias
Also is the 3ds GBA emulator better than the DStwos? (not dstwo+ just the DStwo for DS)
for gba you want to use rxtools it patches agb-firm so you can install a gba.cia and use the systems built in full speed gba emulator simulator

I have quite a few backed up GBA games, is there a way to batch install them with rxtools? So I don't need to baby sit them?

Thanks for the help m80

you need to install bigbluemenu.cia (bbm) to sysnand
then create a new folder on your sd card for cias put the gba .cia files in that folder on your sd card
on your 3ds open bbm under the center tab locate the folder enter it
hold "L" and "R" and press "A"
wait . . . done
then you can play them from rxtools sysnand

if you want to play them from rxtools emunand you need to repeat the process there as well as sysnand (but it must be done in sysnand or else no gba.cia games will not play)

Last edited by wormdood,
what do i need to do for devmenu and the like(BBM) to start?

at the moment it crashers and restarts the 3ds
it (they) should just work . . . try to download them from other sources
i believe i got my bbm from the gateway ultra
and devemenu2x from a 3ds cfw package by some guy named GovanifY

they dont.

the thing is they work on old 32gb SD and emuNAND... but im using my 128gb SD and new emuNAND which was created at 10.4 firmware.

i installed the same files on my old emuNAND 32gb... they should work on new emuNAND 128gb too.. but dont.

so the problem is either the 128gb sd card or the new firmwares has a "feature" which blocks it.

My o3ds isn't showing my DS flash cards, DSTwo or Gateway blue card. I can get retail DS games to run and I have updated the DStwo to the latest firmware using a DS Lite but its still showing a blank space where the "game" should show up, as if theres nothing in the slot. I have tried reinserting it multiple times and my copy of pokemon black works fine just not DStwo or Gateway blue cards.

can i have 2 sd card with same cfw to work on n3ds

You'd just need to do everything twice.

Managed to get my 3ds xl downgraded to 9.2. Having trouble getting minipasta on here or getting decrypt9 to load. I get to the homebrew launcher easily enough, and have been following this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-easy-complete-comprehensive-cfw-guide-for-everyone.408685/ TO THE LETTER.

Any easier ways for me to go about getting things done? (Different CFW, tips for getting things to run properly)

Sort of related to this, I can't get decrypt9wip to load either but its due to me not having internet. Is there a way to load decrypt9 without wifi? I am using the MSET exploit btw.

aren't you using decrypt9 via mset?

I uh... I dunno I am on 4.2 sysnand just trying to get upgraded to 9.2 so I can menuhax it up but I need to install a CIA installer so I can get sysupdater installed so I can get to 9.2 which I will then need to redo my entire setup I think.

To be honest I have no clue what I am doing I got rxtools installed and am very very lost. No clue what decrypt9 does or why I need it.

Following this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/

Been working on this on and off for 3 days. I keep stopping because I am trying to learn about the things I am installing and copying having never done anything like this before and its very overwhelming to come into the homebrew world with 3ds CFW having no previous knowledge of setting any CFW up before. :P

Decrypt9 is for decrypting games and sections of the NAND etc.... In the case of the tutorial you're using, it's being used to dump the health and safety app. From there, you can inject BigBlueMenu (a cia installer) over the health and safety app. Then, after you boot into CFW, the health and safety app will launch BigBlueMenu instead of the health and safety information.

Are you on section 4a of the tutorial? If so, you could just set up the Homebrew Launcher and do section 4b instead. 4b seems a bit easier.

yah so if i install reinand in 1st sd card then take it out and put 2nd sd card install reinand on it Then after that if i put my 1st sd card in 3ds will it recognise it with all my games install

Thanks for the explanations, Is there a way to use the decrypt9 thing without using the browser? My routers wifi doesn't work very well. (broke an antenna and now its spotty at best.) Also homebrew launcher does look easier but the only thing I can use is the browser and since I don't have wifi it isn't an option. (I am on 4.2 so youtube/homemenuhax aren't a thing yet, and I don't have any of the games listed)

Thanks.

Ok, so I'm new to the 3DS homebrew scene, and I just wanted to know why the eShop won't load on BrowserHax or OOT3Dhax. I am on 3DS 10.4 with literally no understanding of emuNAND or anything like that. The console keeps giving me a prompt to update, and I don't want to update for fear of losing my homebrew and exploits. Can someone please tell me how to get on the eShop, without updating? Or fix the eShop on the Homebrew launcher? It keeps booting to a yellow screen on the bottom and a blank or lined screen on the top screen.

I think Decrypt9 and the Homebrew Launcher both require an internet connection to initialize. You might be able to use FBI injection through rxTools though, which would achieve the same result as the BigBlueMenu injection.

Hold L while boot rxTools to open the rxTools menu. From there, go to advanced options. You should see an option for installing FBI. Select it. Choose sysNAND, then select check TMD only. It should tell you which TMD version you need. In the rxTools folder you downloaded, go to the Tools folder, then the fbi_injection folder. Inside there, navigate to your 3DS's region and TMD version. Take the two files inside that folder and place them on the root of your 3DS's SD card. After that, put your SD card back into your 3DS and boot rxTools again while holding L to bring up the menu again. Go back the install FBI option, choose sysNAND again, but this time choose to inject FBI. After that, you should have FBI injected over the health and safety app and should be ok to continue with the tutorial!
