I can't answer your first question. As for your issue, do you have menuhax installed? If so, make sure to delete it.

Also make sure you have all the correct AuReiNand files, along with the right payload.

Ahhh, well tbh I haven't installed the arm9hax yet, I've just been making sure I understand the button configurations and how ReiNand works before I take the plunge. I'll install the 3DSX now though (although I'm wondering if I'm supposed to run the 3DSX while my sysNAND is patched?)

Some say your sysNAND should be patched, although I was able to install arm9hax without patching my sysNAND. So you can try either way.

Yeah I used vanilla sysnand. Just booted into HBL via the browser and ran the arm9.3dsx. Worked first time.

Simply delete the rxTools files, then copy over the AuReiNand files (don't forget the FIRM files), then if you have menuhax set up to boot instantly to your CFW, drag the file within the menuhax folder to the root of your SD card.

Rei-n3ds comes with a firmware90.bin file already, but it just seemed natural for me to replace that with the one in the A9LH folder. Couldn't see any other reason why there is an A9LH folder within firms.zip.

They are both identical so I'm not sure why that folder is there either.

Put them all in a folder within your 3ds folder on your SD card.
Then launch it through the Homebrew Launcher (in your sysNAND).

Edit: Make sure you have a payload on the root of your SD card. Your 3DS will no longer boot without a payload.

i have all the files from the OP for a9lh for reinand mod, what is the payload file called for this mod so I can just double check?

Payloads for a9lh will always be called "arm9loaderhax.bin".

Yeah, it'll work. Also, don't forget to use the proper FIRM files.

arm9loaderhax with reinand works like a beauty! although for some reason, devmenu is literally the only title that will not launch on my 9.0FIRM for some reason, but I honestly can't complain in the slightest

Hmm, I see what you're doing. Don't delete BootHBL.3dsx. Don't delete the menuhax payload if you're not planning to use arm9loaderhax.

You should be able to find the FIRM files on her GitHub.

I already replaced my rei folder with that one found in a9lh after renaming it to rei, I took the dat file from the actualy v3.4 folder and replaced my one on the sd card with that. I should be all set without any issues arrising now? just double checking.

Yeah, you should be good. Just make sure you have the payload on the root of your SD card, install arm9loaderhax with HBL within your sysNAND, then delete menuhax.

I cant find the FIRM files, also im wanting to use arm9loaderhx so can i delete the menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin file?. As i was under the impression if using arm9loaderhax, 3D works from a cold boot and dont need to close the lid and reopen again?
