There is some way to use mset on 9.2, because it is on my new-3DS (9.2.0 sysnand, 10.4.0 emunand)..

I currently just use menuhax to cold-boot in to emunand and gateway CFW..
I know that every one uses other methods besides mset now, and so do I, but since I already had mset on my new-3DS any way, I just left it there as a back-up method just in case..

It has been a long time since I installed the mset thing on my 9.2.0 sysnand, so I don't remember exactly how I did it, so you might need to search for some guides on how to do it if you are still interested in doing it, but I believe it involves downgrading the system-settings part of sysnand to 4.5 system-settings (I think maybe by installing some sort of .cia files maybe for the 4.5 system-settings)..
For example, even though my sysnand is 9.2.0, if I go in to its system-settings, it is the 4.5 system-settings menu and options (although it still displays my correct firmware version (9.2.0)).. So I don't have options in there for things like super-stable-3D because 4.5 system-settings never had those kinds of options, however super-stable-3D is on by default in sysnand any way (even though I have 4.5 system-settings on sysnand), so I don't care about changing that option in sysnand any way (plus I never use sysnand for hardly any thing)..

However in emunand, I have the normal 10.4.0 system-settings to match the emunand's firmware version (you don't need mset on emunand obviously since you are already in emunand......you know.......unless you want to go..deeper.....*cue inception music*)..
So this means that I have super-stable-3D options and all the other options in emunand because the 4.5 system-settings is only on sysnand..

P.S.: You can tell if some one (like me) is using 4.5-era system-settings because the long "Nintendo Network ID Settings" at the top is missing, and the 2 buttons "Internet settings" and "Parental settings" are slightly taller than the other 2 buttons "Data management" and "Other options".. In the newer types of system-settings all 4 of the big buttons are the same size..

EDIT: I want to say one more thing though.. Just like most people will tell you, it is probably best just to use menuhax or whatever other hack methods there are besides mset.. Mset feels kind of obsolete I guess in this day and age.. However it is ultimately up to you since it is your 3DS.. If you are a paranoid person and feel like having tons of back-up entry points, then you can still try to install mset I suppose.. I still have it on my system just because it was grand-fathered in, and not sure how to remove it now.. But if I were to hypothetically buy a new system today, I probably wouldn't bother installing mset..
