Heya there!

So, yeah, odd request a bit but it's a follow up to THIS THREAD HERE.

I suspect that the 3DS I got from a friend has a bad RAM section which then crashes the game when it tries to write/read stuff from it again.
Just to be sure so that we can either sell this thing as broken (to get at least something back) or do other stuff with it we need a bit of "backup" here so we don't simply give a thing away that could be fixed if it's not that.

I'm not sure how long a RAM Tester for the 3DS would take to program or if it's even possible but I am at least allowed to ask ;)

Anyways, thanks a ton already for an answer!

You could probably test some userland memory but some memory is protected so there would be sections of memory that are untestable (I don't think kernel access allows full ram access, but it might, I'm not too sure about that).
As for the issue in your previous post, have you tried using a different sd card?
What about removing the sd card completely?
Tried formatting the 3ds?
If all else fails, maybe updating it could help?
Maybe wait a while before you consider updating though, there might be another way to fix the problem.
Anyway, good luck and I hope you get it fixed :)

This would probably be best done from ARM9, that way you have full access to all RAM.
But a game doesn't have full access to the RAM right? And as stated in the other thread a certain action in a game triggers this error, so only userland would be needed anyways I guess ;)
