Yeah FUCK PIRACY!!! I just want to play lame versions of pong, minecraft, and mario clones!!

oooo and maybe some porn games. that would be wonderful. like i could poke the naughty parts with the stylus and they could moan or something all the while ensuring you dont stop shaking a wiimote. it would be wonderful!!!
Maybe some wiimote play as well. Multitasking to help train us hopeless hermits.

I mean who needs piracy when you can live out your dirty fantasies on your wii u gamepad?
You know IOSU = piracy, obfuscation might make the period between release of the exploit and release of a "backup" loader longer but it will be possible and obfuscation is not going to stop it.
EDIT: Also we will most likely have some emulators before loaderz get released so we can at least get something close to VC piracy XD (But then with almost all games instead of just the VC ones!)

dont forget the inferior emulator ports :D
HEY! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU GETTING THOSE ROMS N SHIT FROM HUH PUNK????
yeah the dirty pirate store. you damn swashbucklers. no one appreciates the importance of true non copyright violating homebrew.

In all seriousness I hope he's just saying he's making it hard to enable piracy just to cover his own ass. I mean ideally I would be happy if he trusted some of the dudes working on loadiine. That way he could give them a non obfuscated version and then they could have a loadiine build ready for when the iosu exploit is released. That would be sooooo coool.
(probably doesnt work that way though..)

I think the question is with the added obfuscation would any actually be willing to develop a loader. Developing a loader im sure is already a difficult task without extra headaches to have to worry about. This scene is not exactly flourishing with developers, and the developers that are here are mainly against piracy and loaders.

But hack teams compete and he wouldn't want his exploit released with someone else's name attached to it. :P

I understand the logic, but at the same time, grey area fields just take it to some weird levels.

It most likely does indeed not work that way, but we also know that there will be a warez loader at some point utilising the exploit. The Wii was also hacked with a obfuscated exploit and it had piracy, so...

oooo I didn't know that. The wii was like my introduction to console hacking lol.
That's somewhat comforting then :]

I don't know how much team twiizers (aka failoverflow) put into the obfuscation though, and due to the security of the Wii it was most likely easier to enable piracy even though the exploit was obfuscated. So it's not a 100% warez loaders will come somewhat quick cumfirmed kinda deal, but loaders will come at some point.

Also Wii was also my introduction to console hacking. There was this thing near me where you could rent toys, and they had a Wii so I rent it but they had very few games and I wasn't going to buy any and because I already hacked it due to emulators (and I did actually install non-pirate homebrew as well just for fun) I at some point became a dirty pirate like 96% of the users on this forum.

Created this account to straighten a few things out. First. the ONLY thing obfuscation does is make it more difficult to decompile or otherwise reverse engineer software. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obfuscation_(software)
Second isn't it possible that Nintendo used a static IP address to an update server instead of using a URL? This would make the need for a DNS unnecessary. This could explain how some people are still getting updated. This and the DNS cache and mii neighborhood thingy.

Also does this Hykem obfuscating exploit to combat piracy mean: Hykem is Illuminati confirmed.

There are no static IP's used. People who update either started downloading before setting DNS or set it up incorrectly!

They need to load-balance all the incoming traffic. If they tie it all to one IP address and then that route/machine/IP block changes/goes down/whatever, then Nintendo is seriously screwed because all the consoles are hard-locked to that IP and can no longer receive an update to the new address or access eshop/updates/etc.

Actually, some of us like the comfy option of inserting your disc on the drive, installing the game into a external usb drive with a loader, and then getting better loading speeds and less noise while keeping the disc mint.
I know this is random and off-topic, but I just wanted to say that your signature is awesome. xD

New to the ISOU scene... saw some debates over anti-piracy so I get some questions for the "seniors" here:
1) Is the emuNand scene dead?
2) Is the USBloader scene dead? (not sure if USB Loader is directly related to emuNand)

Well. Really i think this discussions dont belong to here. We are just waiting for the exploit. Ofcourse hykem dont wanna make a loader or something.

When the exploit comes out. Another dev or something will work on that i think.

But hey....its just a theory..

A homebrew theory :v

Thanks for reading.
