Hi all,

Just changing now my MHX english-patched .cia and I would like to know if my Emunand stocks my savedata on a particular folder, allowing me to just make a copy, or do I have to use a tool to make a backup?

Thanks

The save data it's encrypted. To access the cia's save data use svdt. Backup your save files from your original game, then select the cia with svdt and restore your backed up save files on it.

Thanks for your answer, I installed svdt, but having trouble to find the savedata from my previous installed .cia game. I suppose it must be in a folder from "Nintendo 3DS" but how to identify it?

You can't use the save data that way, all the files inside the nintendo 3ds folder are encrypted and console specific. Back up your save with svdt to your sd card and then restore the save contents back to the new mhx cia.

Yeah that is what I want to do, but where is the save data related to MHX on my SD Card? I tryed "Nintendo 3DS-> My Emunand folder -> extdata -> "MHX title-ID". Are those the right files to copy?

It does not work that way. Heres how you could do it.
1.Select svdt on the homebrew launcher and then select the game you want to extract the save from.
2.Extract the game files from your game to any folder located on your sd.
3.Exit from svdt and select it again. This time choose the cia you want to export the save files to.
4.Export the save contents you just backed up to your sd to your games cia.
That's it.

I am sorry mate, but really it is the step 2 I dont get. My game is already in .cia format, it is just and older patch version, I want to uninstall it and install the latest patched-version V9 of MHX. To do so, I must like you said extract the game files, but where are those? It is not a cartdrige version but already a .cia, I am just switching. I saw in other posts that MHX saves to extdata, and it title ID is 00155444000 or something like that, so the files to extract must be located in that folder, aren't they?

Thanks for the N3ds plugin advice, gonna try that

Once you open svdt amd select which game you are going to use. Svdt will start and you'll see the selected game save contents on the left side of the screen and your sd contents on the right side.

Thisbis the screen I get when I launch svdt, It doesn't seem like I can choose my game from here

Or maybe you are telling me I need to choose the .cia of my game? Because I delete them once it is installed, if it is that I'll reinject it to my SD

You choose the game before getting that screen. If it's not letting you select the game youbmay be missing svdt's .xml file. It goes where the .3dsx is located.

Tried your solution, indeed it was the file missing. But it only shows me "download play" as an available title. Do I need to keep the .cia file of my game for it to be detected?

edit: I can navigate between different titles using left, but it only shows me the 3DS-native utilities, and not my installed games

When you see download play, use dpad left and right until you find your game.

Yeah that must be it. Enter the homebrew launcher while in emunand with browserhax or the homebrew launcher cia.

Well I think I'm gonna have to search another solution. After accessing HBL from emunand, the game appears correctly, but when I choose it, svdt doesnt start, I am stuck at flashed yellow screen.

small question @Vondosaurusrex, do you know if the savedata plugin works on ntr cfw 3.2 or do I must find a 2.0 ntr? Cause my game flashed green only once with L pressed, and it freezed there, had to restart the console.

Ok no problem, I am wondering if there

Gonna look for that, thanks, ntr plugin seems unstable. Do you got a tutorial for the homebrew by any chance?
savedatafiler is very simple to use and has on screen instructions for what button combo's do. Note some games for example pokemon have whats known a secure value. Just delete the secure value before selecting import.
