Hello. I currently have a 10.3-028 N3DS XL. All I want to do with this system is pirate 3DS games. Other than the price (about 80-90 bucks) of Sky3DS+, are there any good reasons for me to downgrade as opposed to buying a flashcart?

Wait for a stable downgrader / downgrade now and take a risk / wait for Gateway 3DS to support 10.3.0-28 soon™. I would avoid getting a SKY3DS+ since there will be clones of it soon.

I wouldn't mind waiting for a stable downgrader, but are there any in the works? I feel compelled to downgrade now with the upcoming maintenance.

My biggest problem with downgrading is that N3DS emunand only goes up to 9.5. I've heard there is a "crypto-fix" workaround for games that require a higher firmware, but I was unable to learn anything about this on "that iso site".

Are you on 10.3.0-28? If yes you can just sit on that firmware nothing will force you to update. Use Tubehax DNS to block updates so you dont get hit by the update nag, go to the eShop and download anything you might need before getting locked out. Cryptofixed versions of games install no differently and are safe, also we are for sure getting 10.3 Emunand soon it's just a waiting game to see who does it first.

Sweet, thanks for the info.

Has anybody mentioned working on a more stable downgrading method? I've heard that the current sysupdater fails to remove extra "titles" left behind by 10.3 when downgrading to 9.2, and that this can lead to small errors. This is one of the main reasons I am thinking of staying on 10.3

I cant give perfect advice on that since I dont have a need to downgrade but from what i've read justpingo was working on something but cracked under pressure and flaked so I cant really say who's working on what.

Sky3ds vs cfw

Sky3ds pros :
- no modding on your 3ds
- plug and play
Sky3ds cons :
- expensive
- no cia games(meaning no eshop exclusive games)
- game cycling is a chore
- go online on games needs extra work

Cfw pros:
- free!
- install games directly to your sd card
- playable nearly every games and go online
Cfw cons:
- mod your 3ds required(and there are risk)

Obviously cfw are better choice. But if you scared of modding your 3ds, sky3ds+ are also not that bad.
