How much faster/better are the CIA versions compared to the 3DSX ones? I'm currently on 9.5, so CIA would require downgrading. But only if it's worth the risk.
I'm mostly running SNES games, using the catsfc core
CatSFC doesn't make use of dynarec, so running it in .cia form won't have any major advantages over the .3dsx form. For instance, I'm running Zelda Link to the Past on O3DS via CatSFC.cia and getting about 25FPS, which is less than half speed. With audio sync off, it goes to about 40FPS, which is still less than ideal.

GPSP on the other hand, does make use of dynarec and runs at mostly full speed 60FPS.

To the people on New3DS and can run Retroarch on CIAs, how does the PS1 core run for games like MGS1 and Chrono Cross?

I'm still waiting to get a bigger microSD card so I can't test.

info on Final Fantasy Tactics would also be appreciated.

does anyone know if there are any builds of the PCE emulator core/mednafen that can run supergrafx roms?
also anyone know if there is a way to enable rapid fire for PCE emulator core/mednafen?
i am trying to run daimakaimura ,supergrafx ghouls and ghost with no luck everytime :hateit:

So it seems gpSP can run Pokemon FRLG and Emerald at 60 FPS most of the time which is good enough for me. ROM injection no longer interests me.

Are filters not supported by the genesis core? It runs fine with fceux, catsfc and gambatte but starting up the genesis plus with filters results in a black screen.

Anyway other than that every games I've tried to run with these been working full speed, thanks to the devs keep up the good work!

Just a little thing..uh. I remember when metroid fusion ran on gpsp like a few months ago. At the starting cutscene, it would lag horribly, like, AWFUL. Almost unplayable lag, on a N3DS.

Now it runs at 60FPS. So, damn, good work on that.

Weird, I can't install Ironhax. So I have to hax with the browserhax. Maybe that's why PCSX doesn't work on my side :/

Yes ironhax is no longer working, unless you already had older version downloaded. For some reason it no longer let's you download from the old Eshop. I would reccomend menuhax. It has been working great for me. I also have OOT3Dhax, but find menuhax better, since I don't need cartridge.

I'm on n3DS 9.2, and I can't see any improvement with the cias over the speed i had with 3dsx on 10.3. Is it because it runs at "full capacity" already on 3dsx, or is the nightly I got bad, or something else I'm missing?

depends what emulators you're using. I know that gpSP and PCSX-ReARMed use dynarec, and some others.

only emulator with dynamic recompiler will make sense. gpsp psx etc
