Has anyone installed update cias for the cia games they installed as well? Or does that require kernel access?

1. Like, a 0.001% chance..no one has reported a brick yet.

2. I held down the power button until it force shut down, then tried again until it worked.

3. Same as 2, just hold down the power button then turn it on [without loading menuhax if thats your entrypoint].

Well i've tried FBI like 8 times and it always freeze, also when i've installed Majora's Mask, so i closed the 3ds by holding the power button and i haven't got any problem

Thank you both. One last question:

After installing the .cia is it possible to remove it from SD Card or do we have to keep it?

That requires kernel access as updates are non-legit CIAs. However, if you have access to eShop, you can download an update that way without issues.

Thanks for the reply, so if I understand correctly you are able to install legit cias and update these games if youre on FW >10.2 but if you choose to downgrade you have to install a CFW that can install non-legit cias? If you update your installed cia games and then downgrade would you lose your cias?

Take it off the SD card, but keep it some place safe. I think nobody wants to deal with these awful filehosts if they don't have to.
I only have gotten MK7 installed, and right as this was announced, I went and downloaded every legit CIA and threw it in a file in case I need it later or the hosts go down or anything.

Got it to work, finally. O3ds 10.3.0.28u. Seemed to have more luck launching random homebrew programs before FBI. The attempt that worked I launched Citra, then ftbrony, then fbi. At least 20 attempts in all, 10 without other apps beforehand an all those attempts failed to get to the frozen "done" part. Best of luck all!

It works. Just have to use HANS.

Can someone explain to me how to delete the .cia that I installed?

Someone said something about their values/numbers, but I'm not sure where I can find those.

Just delete it using a File Manager or PC.

Aren't legit CIAs made with the pre-installed games?
It will be legit in the sense that you can install it on your own console (the one that bought it in the first place) but non-legit in the sense it's not installable by every man and his dog.
