I have seen lots of people sayign you should update to it from the Original HBL but I dont see the need to and honestly I really dont like it. I have had lots of issues with it and all I have seen is it looking more like the home menu but its just un-necessary for some stuff it makes it impossible to use for example Save Data Manager wont even open and eShop old version downloader doesnt even show up. I would appreciate if anyone can explain why I should update to it.

For me everything is working well on this launcher...
Try downloading the "Save Data Manager" and when you click on it wont open no idea why

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

if they show up if you put the default launcher in place, then you're using a really old version of the grid launcher.

other than that, if you want to keep the same layout as smealum's but want things like folder support, you can check this one out:

Awesome ill check it out, The Red theme it has is looking awesome xD

It's much more practical than the default hbl.

I will admit that it's not as clean. However, the ability to launch my installed apps straight from it and eshop access is a plus. I almost never go to the original home menu. Customization is nice.

I see no reason not to.. That's just me.

When it comes to homebrew its all about customization not as much as features to me. I looked at the HBL Mod by Suloku but its really laggy if it didnt have any of this whole folder shenanigans I would have used it. I want HBL in red lol no fancy features xD

In all seriousness, downloading and installing most apps is easy as breathing.
And he/she's right though. Why make multiple threads when you could've simply made one called "Some Homebrew Questions that I have" or some shit like that?
Couldn't agree more good sir! He has like three threads where three actual important ones could be haha

Should've thought about whatever questions you had overall before submitting, then. Or ask someone on your initial thread whatever question popped up in your mind instead of making a new thread.

Oh, and just in case you think I'm being a cunt or something for pretty much scolding you, I'm not. I've got no reason to be a dick here nor anywhere.

Mashers launcher is the bees knees if you've ever wanted to customise wallpapers and audio sounds, and it's somehow kept more than adequate stability despite the extraordinary feature set it contains. This thread is a disgrace.
only problem is not everyone cares about them, myself included.

That's fine, but to be disinterested shouldn't be a problem. I just don't think any homebrew developer should have to read their work receiving unwarranted, unfair criticism.

Save Data Manger couldn't be used with the Grid Launcher during the *hax 2.1 days, but there's no problems with it on 2.5.

Not to start a flame war but this thread isn't a disgrace, I didn't know masher's HBL now has a circlejerk now, and to answer the question, no it isn't necessary.
