I imported a Toukiden Vita 1000 from Japan last week. Decided to check out the hacking stuff for this device before I just straight upgrade it to latest.

Came with 2.12. Using my PS3 I was able to link and activate my vita on my PSN account. Wanted to do the mail bug to create the TN-V bubble. Got a cheap PSP game to sacrifice, got everything downloaded and transferred to the vita just fine. but then realized I needed 3.0+ for the mail bug. So I upgraded to 3.18 using this guide and download.

http://www.guidingtech.com/42173/offline-update-ps-vita-firmware/

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIRMWARE/Sony/Sony-PlayStation-Vita-Firmware-318.shtml

Upgrade seemed to go fine, but when I follow this guide

http://hackinformer.com/PlayStationGuide/PSV/tutorials/how_to_fix_questionmark_bug_for_mailhax.html

It doesn't work as indicated. I open the attachment, get the error, close the mail app (home button and swipe) and relaunch it. But the email is not reset, and when I go to #0 attachment its a ?

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Is this even worth it? I read somewhere once you get the bubble installed you can update, is that true? Or should I just update to latest and play PSP games on my PSP3000 (which I still have with CFW on it).

EDIT:

Also openCMA and qCMA are no longer connecting to the content manager. Gives the error "You must update the system software of the PS Vita system." when connecting to qCMA and "Could not connect to the PC" to openCMA. Airplane mode is active.

System info says firmware is 3.18 yet I can't do anything like it is.

EDIT2:

Fixed the openCMA issue. Uninstalled the driver installed by qCMA.

To fix the "?" icon on your #0 attachments, you need to download the writer.eml and forward it to yourself using Mozilla Thunderbird. (Remember, a Gmail account is highly recommended to do all of this!)

When forwarded, open the email app on your Vita and look for the sent email. Now click on the attachment (It should have a camera symbol). WHEN THE ERROR APPEARS, DON'T CLICK OFF OF IT! INSTEAD, WHILE THAT ERROR MESSAGE IS STILL PRESENT ON THE SCREEN, CLOSE THE EMAIL APP ALTOGETHER AND RE-OPEN IT.

You should now be able to re-configure your account details and write files to your Vita.

If that all didn't work for you, then I have no idea what is going wrong..

Yup that is what I did.

I sent the writer.eml with outlook. Received it on my vita and clicked the attachment (which yes had the camera symbol). Error pops up, I close the app, reopen and it goes to my email. Not reset.

Is it because I have a japan imported vita?

Yeah, it might be because of the way the Japan Vita works. I've never looked into it much. :/

Honestly, thunderbird is the way to go. It worked perfectly fine for me.

So I just bought a Vita with 3.51 on it, can I still use Rejuvinate? I saw that PSM+ was removed by Sony so is there another place it's available?

I was told Outlook and Hotmail Emails don't work. Try Gmail.

Well, i downloaded thunderbird and created a new gmail account instead of using my existing one...

For whatever reason it worked now.

So now what? How do I get games onto here?

What else should I do before I update to 3.55? I am on 3.18. There is that other bubble...
