OP
So I used Riku's AGB_FIRM patch in Emunand, since I'm still having trouble running rxtools dev mode for some reason, and my GBA VC games are still returning errors after applying the patch.
I used FBI, and I'm sure I installed it to the NAND (within my Emunand).

I'm using a 2DS with 10.3 emunand and a 9.2 sysnand.

I'm sorry if this's been answered time and time again.

Thank you for any solutions. :)

It can work on emuNAND, but you have to have both the games and the patch installed on sysNAND and emuNAND at the same time. The games on emuNAND essentially act as a shortcut for the stuff you already have installed on sysNAND (they still take up space though).

You only need sysNAND patched, emuNAND has to be compatible but not manually patched.

I installed the patch to both. Without it installed to both I wasn't getting the lovely GBA boot animation when running GBA games off emuNAND.
Well yeah, but it's not needed to play the games XD
For some reason, Pasta isn't booting into sysnand for me.
What entrypoint are you using?

rxTools patches AGB_FIRM on the fly, you don't need to do it yourself.
You just need GBA games installed on both sysnand and emunand to run them directly from emunand. Otherwise only on sysnand and you can run them from sysnand.

I did it anyway, but thanks for the heads up. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure installing into NAND, while on Emunand, is not meaning you install it to SYSNAND, but into your Emunand system files and that's probably not where cia games should go. Install the games to sd card both in fbi running in Emunand and in Sysnand and then it should work.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
