Weren't there reprints or was that only for the USA version?

YWW definitely has reprints in the USA, so I would imagine EUR does too.

got this problem my self i am on 4,3,2 and have a download code for splatoon so if i fake my firmware to 5.5.0 i can download it, it wont update my system

no mate if you do the spoof you wont need to update, but however you will need to be on 5.3.2 to use the spoof, so being on 4.3.2 is not good. if you made a mistake and meant you are on 5.3.2, good you are all ready
(i dont have a wii u so im not sure if 4.3.2 exists)

If you still have access to the receipt and the serial number is on the receipt, think about adding it to this:

Also in the USA , Mario maker bundle (I believe a Walmart exclusive with amiibo) came out sept 11 2015(again I believe) with 5.4.0 installed firmware.
So every new bundle after that should have at LEAST 5.4.0.

There's been 3 reported in December to be on 5.4.0 or 5.5.0. If you can get an old one you might get lucky.
