it's like a nazi regime in their i got banned just for hinting at the gba emulator on the 3ds and got moderated many times for simple things like calling someone a moron and callimg sony out on not giving us disc playback (apperntly that's trolling)
Why is it like that?

Emulator talk over there falls under illegal activities because of what they are used for, even though emulators as-is are not illegal. But that's expected behavior over there. What's worse is how trolls there get away with what they do because they know the system all too well. The mods know it too, but they won't act when a known troll attempts to cause trouble. I almost think the mods let them get way with it because they help bring clicks, much like how numerous sites rely on clickbait articles for hits. Then we have those that are a disruptive influence, get suspended/banned, yet are allowed to make another account, and go through the whole thing all over again.

It's sad really especially when someone makes a genuine post or topic but they interpret it as trolling so they get banned while numerous other obvious trol threads are left

Calling someone a moron would get you moderated here too. As would any Sony bashing.

It's not like im going out of my way to make someone feel bad and i hope ur not serious about the sony thing im a fan of sony but it doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to critise them for stupid decisions like being the only somy console that cant play ps1 games

gamefaqs is the 4chan of games except not quite as bad...almost
How is gamefaqs like 4chan? 4chan doesn't censor or ban you for speaking your mind at all. The whole point of the site is to be anonymous and avoid pressure of social backlash for speaking what you believe. That's the exact opposite of what he is talking about.

You're a moron, also fuck Sony.

GameFAQs is a vile cesspool, a seething pit of idiocy and trolls. It's easily one of the worst sites on the internet, where 90 percent of the "discussions" are inane and soul-crushingly stupid, and the rest are just tiresome poll threads. The trolling is completely out of control- and in fact is actively supported in many cases, with a mild chuckle given towards the worst behaviors, as long as the moderator is friends with the one acting out. It's only second to Wikipedia for how vile its administrator community is.

Don't give a fuck about GameFaqs. But I never knew Wikipedia had a bad community, I guess I never really bothered checking what the community was like.

On the surface, the sheer number of users and articles means most people never see the inner workings. But underneath it's a pit of intentionally designed acronym labyrinths, sockpuppets, favoritism and cliques. I bumped into a thread where a guy had been stalked by a user for literally years- the guy who would follow his contributions and delete/revert them without even giving an edit summary, but because the stalker had a friend who was an admin...

A species that carries two varieties:

Variety 1-A sincerely respectable and competent person who enforces reasonable rules and gives fair punishments. Unfortunately, is a incredibly rare breed.

Variety 2-A cranky person who takes things too seriously, mods people for saying things they don't like or agree with (regardless of the rules), and will instinctively play the rule lawyer game when called out on it. Will also frequently single out sole examples of the perceived rule breaking while blowing off other posters doing equal or worse.
A Variety 2 Gamefaqs Moderator in action:

"Topic deleted by mod due to being off topic"

Poster-But my topic involved various characters from the game and discussed them. And there are a crapload of topics that are just as much off topic such as crappy VS threads and yapping about your retarded fetishes threads.

Mod-Don't care. Don't like your thread. I like reading posters go on about how Sonic's furry power beats Mario, repeat unfunny memes, and go on about what underage cartoon characters they'd like to bone.

Poster-Fag.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

And here's another example:

Poster-"Posts his opinion on something that others don't agree with"

Mod-"Deletes post for trolling"

Poster-The Hell? I didn't post that to annoy other users or incite some flamewar. I was just posting my opinion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

And another example:

Poster: "Posts in topic that's now about a game where a black guy goes around killing white people by asking if the game will have fried chicken"

Mod: "Uses mod powers for some reason even though the post wasn't any more offensive than others in the topic that weren't modded whatsover."

Poster:''Is suspended, and doesn't get the chance to contest the moderation"

they have their rules and you break them, several times. and eventually you get banned for that.
no insulting, no cursewords unless you ****** the whole word. no talk about emulation because no talk about it.

its the same here, isn't it? how many times you have have to link to roms before mods have had it?
