I'd like to unlink my nands. Apparently it is as simple as plugging your SD card out of your 3ds, and then format SysNAND. Once i put my SD card back in, do i still have my Emunands? (RX and Gateway?) Are my CIA's safe? I have some GBA games on RXTools, that i only had to install on emunand. Are they safe?

What are advantages and disadvantages of unlinking nands? 1 advantage that i know of is that CIA's dont go pack to gift packages.

All of this is safe since it is on the SD card. Another advantage is that you can use menuhax autoboot on your sysnand without being bothered by it on your emunand.

No it won't update.

Alright thanks.

1 Final question, the 3DS is used, and i do not know the password of the NNID. If i unlink my nands, will i get logged out of either? (Im playing some Eshop titles that have the saves attached to the NNID i think)

Is it on your console sysNAND? If it is on emuNAND then you don't need to worry about it. But if you were using it on sysNAND then during formatting it will ask you to connect to the internet (in order to log out and remove NNID). You may lose the NNID and all the amount and purchases. However, anything which you have on emuNAND bought from eShop would still be accessible unless you try to go online and/or create/login NNID (it may try to check existing apps and may delete it or make it unuseable if found invalid purchases). Basically emuNAND and sysNAND were sharing same Nintendo 3DS folder so even after sysNAND format (do format without SD card inserted), whatever was shown and working in emuNAND will still be same, except that the NNID stored there would now be invalid (as that got logged out from N's server).

tldr. Nothing to worry about if NNID is used in emuNAND and not in sysNAND. Just take out SD card before formatting. Later on you can set the exploits again to boot to emuNAND from same SD card and everything should be there.

I never actually bought anything from the Eshop. I just downloaded f2p games (such as Shuffle and Rumble world) on EmUNAND

Wait, i need to setup Rxtools and Gateway again after formatting?!

So does it autologin to eShop or it asks for the password? Anyway you cannot use same NNID unless you remember the password, you would have to create a new one, but doing so may remove whatever eShop apps you downloaded with previous NNID.

By exploit I mean to make it boot to emuNAND (like MSET, CN, etc), so yes you have to set up same exploit whichever you are using right now.

I FORGOT TO ASK: ARE YOU USING MSET ON N3DS OR 2DS? Did you modify System Setting app before on sysNAND? If you using O3DS then ignore my question.

You might have a problem with the Eshop, you need your NNID setup on your Sysnand for the Eshop to work on your Emunand. I'm not sure if you can do this now as the Eshop is no longer accessible on lower firmware versions.

I know i can backup my save with Savedatafiller, but would i work? Say i format, and (i guess i will) get logged out of NNID on EmuNAND and create my own NNID, can i import my save again? (Pokemon Shuffle)

Um yeah but I think that it would need unlinked nands but still
No, its not needed if you follow my tutorial(so the how it works in my tutorial to see why it's not needed to unlink them). Letting the people simply follow my tutorial is much easier for beginners than unlinking the nand I think, because there are often problems with the nnid after they unlinked them.

My true goal is to install NInjhax on my EmuNAND (latest, 10.3 i believe) using a CIA copy of Cubic Ninja. I really only want to unlink my NANDs so that stuff doesn't convert back into packages. The only real E-shop stuff that i got on my EmuNAND is Shuffle. Whenever there is an update for it, i have to login my NNID in order to update the game. So yeah..

- If i remove my SD card and format Sysnand, will i still be logged in on emuNAND?
- If not, do i keep my save to the game?
- If not, can i backup my save, create a new NNID, and import it back, or is this not needed?
-I have an O3DSXL which uses browser exploit to boot emuNAND. Once formatted do i need to set anything up again, or will it stay the same (go to browser click my Gateway bookmark)

  1. in theory yes, but it wont work, unless you login on sysnand again or remove the nnid configuration from your emunand and login again on your emunand
  2. you can still use your saves on emunand if you format your sysnand, but they wont work on sysnand anymore
  3. using the save datafiler for example you could back them up and restore them.
  4. you need to add the bookmarks again

If you only use the systemnand for booting the emunand after setting up autoboot the wont be wrapped again, even if you have them linked.
This will only happen if you boot into sysnand.

I really do nothing with Sysnand besides booting into EmuNAND and maybe sometimes play an DS game using my blue card

The thing is, i do not know the password of my NNID,since its an used 3ds. How can i remove the NNID from Sys and EmuNAND and create my own?
