I successfully got my 5.3.2 Wii U to play games. Thanks for all of your efforts, THIS IS AMAZING!!! Truly am very thankful to the community here....
However I am having an issue.
I noticed that every time I turn on my Wii U and it goes to the Wii Menu, or I go back to the Wii menu from settings or something, it always puts me through this process...

"Connecting to Nintendo Network..."

Then it gives the "error 102-2511 In order to use online services, a system update is required. Go to system settings and perform a system update."

I can hit OK and then choose cancel so it doesn't update. And can still play games via the miimaker method.

Is this a normal thing or am I not blocking the nintendo servers correctly? Should I never get that Message?

I signed up for Opendns and think I followed the directions correctly but I still get that message on my Wii U no matter what.

Can someone answer please, I want to do a game update through WUP installer. But do not want to do it before I know if it will update my console when I do it, or ruin my FW version. If you have Nintendos servers blocked, will it give the "error 102-2511" message asking me to update? Or will it never show up if yo have them blocked?

did everything I could think of following that guide. Tubehax DNS does nothing for me. I still get the Error message and asking if I want to update my console. I think my router may be too old to handle that type of process. There is no url filtering in the router options page. HELP PLEASE!!!!

TubeHax DNS has nothing to do with your router. Ditch OpenDNS, and follow instructions to put TubeHax DNS as your Primary DNS on your Wii U Internet Settings, followed by 0.0.0.0 for the Secondary DNS.

The only thing you would use on your router is URL blocking as a backup in case TubeHax DNS were ever to get taken down, but if your router didn't support it, only using TubeHax DNS will be just fine.

Thank you. What I really need to know is if that message I get almost every time I go to the wii menu asking me to update my console is normal? I want to do a game update thru WUP and don't wanna update my console in the process.

I have 3 Wii U's. 1 is on 5.5.0U, 1 is on 5.3.2U, 1 is brand new never opened so I don't know what it's on.

The 5.5.0 Wii U cannot access Youtube after I shut off all console update features and put in Tubehax's DNS(So I am sure the DNS is working there), but can access netflix and the Internet app no problem.

The 5.3.2 Wii U doesn't have Youtube, so I can't tell if Tubehax DNS is working by that method. It ALWAYS gives me the update console message going to Wii Menu or turning the console on. It does give me a choice to download it or not. I always choose not too obviously lol. Also, when I turn on my console I get a red X over the download management icon at the bottom.

Is this message always going to pop up? Or is there a way to stop having the console ask for a console update?

The red X is common. Have you checked if your system has partially downloaded a system update? if so use the remove update link to get rid of it.

Checked the memory on the wii U and the download management and there doesn't show any partial updates.

However, when I arrive back at the Wii U menu or turn the console back on It still says...

"Signing in to Nintendo network"

Then immediately goes to a screen that says...

"Error Code: 102-2511"
"In order to use online services a system update is required."
"Go to system settings to perform an update."

Is this a normal message?
Will using WUP installer to do a SSB Game update, update my console?

I've never had my Wii U online to confirm if that nag is normal, but the red X is a good indicator that the server is blocked. Try running the Update Deleter to kill any partial update that may be there. You could also spoof to 5.5.0 to get rid of the nag.

Using WUP installer will not update your console. I reccommend you use it to install the FW spoof, then use the tubehax dns to block updates.
Not particularly in that order though. Set up TubeHax DNS first and always keep it there from day 1.

I'm not sure why everyone is obsessed with fiddling with their router. Can you stop updates just by turning off standby?
No, turning off standby only stops automatic downloading when your console is "off". Without DNS, it will check for updates when you are auto-signed in when you access the home menu.

Do you run the Update uninstaller just by visiting the webpage on the wii u internet first? Or do I have to go to Loadiine, then WUP installer, then the site?

I'm surprised nobody has created a simple, definitive "patch" or whatever for CFW and Homebrew the like, to have the blocking built-in for noobs.

(Future) IOSU Exploit + (Future) EmuNAND = win

Loadiine is for playing games from SD. Requires running the Modified Kernel Exploit first.
WUP Installer is for spoofing to 5.5.0 and also for installing (legit) game updates. Requires running the Original Kernel Exploit first.
Update Deleter is for... deleting the update. Requires nothing. Just open the browser and launch the hack from whatever page you choose to use (online or self-hosted).

I always get the same message logging into network ... blah blah blah update to use services. blah blah blah I click OK then cancel and im good to go no update starts downloading and if it does it doesnt install it. I have tubehax setup and URL filtering supposedly but always get that message. at one time I even had an update say it completed download. but I watched it in the download manager it hanged for awhile then the blue bar completed but it was way too fast for it to download based on my isp download speeds. i used the updste deleter exploit in the middle of the process too...so I think It was a glitch. Idk I've shut my WiiU off and won't turn it back on since vc injection is all I've used it for and I can play those games on my jtag. (no sense in risking an update when I can already play said games another way)

but I just wanted to say I too recieve that same message signing into net id. and the message saying you need to update to use these features. I just always click OK and cancel and have never been updated...

side note: onetime I did have my WiiU say a system update will now be applied and all I could do was click "ok" there was no cancel etc I was a completely different message. but... I didn't want an update . so I unplugged my WiiU and the notification never reappeared when I powered it back on only the net I'd nag.

I'll just have to make sure 100% everything is blocked right although Im pretty sure I didn't make any mistakes.
