Guys, I ll be honest to you. i am going nuts! Since 30 days I am trying to understand how to install an exploit. homebrew, hax or whatever they are called.

I read through his forum and I also googled. I soo have no clue what to do nor do i understand what the explanations from those forums or internet.

On my SD Card I dont have a folder just named 3DS. I have a Nintendo 3DS folder and all subfolder names make no sense to me!

If someone could explain to me as if he would explain it to a little child how to install an exploit and run homebrew, i would appreciate it to the max.

Here some Informations:

I have a 3DS v10.2.0.28E
I just bought The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3D
I also started this game and after one minute playing i saved it and closed it!
I took out the SD Card and all i see is a folder named Nintendo 3DS and some subfolder. I will list it down:

Nintendo 3DS/eaea85516a53850eeaa70f939ddb42a4/038000d14780050e5355333200035344/

In this folder there are 3 other folders such as dbs, extdata, title.
Inside dbs folder there are 2 files: import and title
inside the extdata there are again some folders and it goes like this:

extdata/00000000/00000098/00000000
and there are 5 files: 00000001, 00000002, 00000003 ,00000004,00000005

and extdata/00000000/00000229/00000000 and there are 3 files: 00000001, 00000002, 00000003

https://smealum.github.io/3ds/ -> You'll find infos on how to install each hack here.

First, you need to download this, this is how you'll get your "3ds" folder and "boot.3dsx" file.

If you're on 10.2, you can only use NinjHax, IronHax or OoT3DHax to access homebrews.
NinjHax requires the game "Cubic Ninja", which is overpriced right now.
IronHax requires that you downloaded ironfall before august 2015 & requires another way to enter homebrews first.
OoT3DHax requires OoT3D & either another entry point or a powersave/save dongle. If I understood correctly, this is the only entrypoint you can use right now.

As you don't have another entrypoint, you'll have to use the alternative method for OoT3DHax, which means you need a powersave or save dongle.
  1. Download this archive. Go to first (save dongle) or second (powersave) folder, then first folder (try the second folder if first one gives you a corrupted save), then pick the folder corresponding to your region.
  2. Inside, you'll find a lot of prepatched savefiles. To know which one to pick go there and put your firmware version, then click on any of the 2 button. You'll be asked if you want to download a file, but don't : just pick the savefile which has the same name as this file.
  3. Either use your powersave or save dongle to put this savefile onto your gamecart. If you're using powersave, you'll have to backup your save, then go to your PS folder (default is C:/Users/[username]/Powersave 3DS), find that backup and replace it with the patched savefile (don't forget to give it the same name as your backup) and finally restore your save using powersave's program.
Once it's done, launch your game and you should see only 1 savefile with strange name. Select it and you'll be young link in his kokiri's house. Press A or any touch button to launch the homebrew menu.

If you want to download other homebrew than the ones in the starter kit, put them inside your 3ds folder alongside the others.

Oh my gosh! First of all thanks for your answer! As far as I understood I need an extra device to put the save files onto my gamecard? If so then i just spent 40 dollars for this game for nothing coz i thought now i can use it without any extra devices...

You're welcome.
Well, if you know someone that already has access to homebrews, that person can use the OoT3DHax isntaller on your gamecart too (just make sure she selects YOUR firmware and not hers). Otherwise, you'll indeed need another device until a new exploit is found on 10.2.
