I put the xml file in mame folder and renamed it accordingly but it wouldn't load. I also waited for two minutes hoping that it would eventually load but to no avail.
Am I missing something?
Btw, I can load FBA via Youtube.
Thanks in Advance :)

Right done some messing around downloaded some retroarch overlays and noticed that there not enabled as default is there anyway i could mod the config file so i can enable them seems strange to have to option there but not be able to use them:(:(

@aliaspider I just found that the svc rom doesn't load in the current (3dsx) Neogeo build, but worked great in the test build you put out yesterday. Loads fine in FBA full, but the sound's screwed up - it doesn't seem to load csnd.
Thought I'd let you know.

edit

Not sure what was going on with my setup, but after literally deleting everything off of my sd, replacing everything with back ups, and/or reinstalling, I now have csnd back.
I initially thought it was an issue with the most recent beta's of masher's grid launcher (that have just introduced theme music and sounds), but rolling back masher's hbl to a build before the audio support disproved that, as the problem remained. Rolling back to previous builds of the emulators and deleting configs didn't fix it either.
Something, somewhere was conflicting... kind of wish I knew where/what, but I'm just pleased it's all working again now.

EDIT: Nevermind, chalk it up to silly user error, everything works now! To anyone having issues with FBA/Mame, double check your .xml and make sure your text editor isn't saving anything weird, your file should only be ~100-200 bytes at most.

Mame .37b5 set works beautifully. It should also only include roms that the 3ds can run full speed. The roms included are nearly identical to .78 as well Barr a few that aren't ever going to run anyways. Pm me if you can't find it. I will be uploading the romset for mame and fba tonight.

Are you using cia or 3dsx builds?
I can't load my mame 3dsx

60fps/fully playable for genesis plus px?!?!?! last time i tried that one i got 20fps in sonic the hedgehog. (I am on 10.1 with no kernel if you were wondering.) please at least be specific about which ones need kernel for full speed and which ones can actually play full speed without it.

2.5 10.2 runs rull speed :)

Main problem with MAME is that buttons are not rebindable, which is really an issue since each game is completely different with what button maps to action...
Also, Ikari 3 has missing sound channels. I don't think this was the norm with builds of this era... :/

Isn't it possible to save it for each game like withe the other cores ?

You can change the controls...not sure how to get it to come up on an 'Old' 3DS, but on New 3DS, press ZR and a menu will pop up, you can rebind controls there. You could also do it in the Input settings form the Retroarch menu, but the MAME 'pop up' menu is a more elegant solution since it's easy to do it on a per game basis...or at least, if you can do it differently for each game through the Retroarch menu, I don't know how.

CDesign: I don't think you're supposed to ask for stuff like that here.

Hey, so I got the emulators working! Final Burn Alpha is a kick... I'm glad I took the time to get it working. MAME is a bit temperamental, though.

....Uuuuuuuh... That was NOT at all what I meant... :/
I know ALL of that. MAME itself does NOT have the proper bindings setup, like FBA CPS1 also lacks.
What CAN be done alternatively is map them outside of the system via copy/pasting the default maps into game specific versions, but... with MAME especially and it's general as all hell mapping scheme and lack of specification, it's a PAIN to do it every game.

Sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying, I was just trying to help. O_o

Is it normal that Retroarch still freezes or create audio-visual bugs when using Sleep Mode? I'm on N3DS, fw 10.1 and hack 2.5. Sleep mode works fine in the homebrew channel and I'm pretty sure I have 2.5 correctly installed as I can enter the eShop through HANS.
