Homebrew (Project) Pokemon Z rom Hack for X/Y

UPDATE 10-30-15 NEW NAME POKEMON NEW ORDER and I'm not to sure which poké I should use rayquaza or some one else i will accept recommendations and I want to give you the fell of a gba Pokémon my favorite ones


This is a project and I need help with this you can help me work on this if you want and I have all of the story created and it will be a whole new game

It will have a bigger challenge and it will be about Team Cypher trying to use rayquaza and other Grass type Pokémon to dominate the other Pokémon in the region and team Cypher want leaf type Pokémon only

And this is gonna be a free rom hack and its gonna be awesome

It's gonna be great." with nothing else such as proof of concept, ideas, or at least an explanation of what you already know how to do given.

For instance, I'm starting up a 4 Minus mini-project, given the B- team is thinking about making their own. I can at least supply that I'm working on Mii Gunner first and that I've already thought up relatively balanced but broken changes, like fair firing once per frame from 10-27 rather than just on 10, for hella recoil (and thus likely instant death when there are no walls) and potentially 108 damage if there is a wall and the opponent isn't an SDI god. You're just saying "here's this project. general idea here. hype here." and being done.

And there is rumors going around of Pokemon Z coming out and it looks like it's going to happen. If I were you, I'd put this in hiatus, buddy

Thaaaat too, sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo went ahead and released a Z to coincide with Pokemon Go.

For your information, the game that you (KMDhax) describe in the OP is much more like a Pokemon: Delta Emerald of some sort than a Pokemon Z. ORAS use Groudon, Kyogre and thus eventually Rayquaza, all from its region, whilst XY use Xerneas, Yveltal and thus eventually Zygarde; it's a minor thing, but be consistent.

I have a great idea. Instead of everyone being an asshole to the OP, why not suggest name changes to the title and either volunteer your skills or point him to people who might be interested in this project. I'm afraid I have nothing to offer in the latter two departments, so here is my contribution: @//KMDhax , I'd think that due to the rumors of a Pokemon Z title already coming down the pipe and how Nintendo tends to release a third game in their sets with names that play off the first two, a different title for your ROM hack would be a good idea. Here's a few I can think of real quick...

Like I said, you're better off with a Zygarde-centered story rather than a Rayquaza-centered one unless you plan on the romhack being built off of ORAS rather than XY - and with that said, it'd be in your best interest to pick any name BUT Pokemon Z, as denoted above. Both unoriginal and likely pretty quickly going to be eaten by nontendo.

@arca.. @Arcia.. w\e (is your name a typo or am i hallucinating), there's a pretty high chance that we either dont have skills to volunteer or simply arent directly in relations with people who do have the skills to volunteer or the interest to contribute to the project. Even then, as I noted in my first post, there's not much here to attract people to help - just an EXTREMELY general idea from a really new member and a 'good luck to all of us'.

Prepare to take apart the game's engine and to research the fuck out of simply making an NPC walk two units without corrupting your romfs.. This isn't easy. Where would the original story go? Where's all this extra space that you'll magically create and use? It's not feasible unless you're familiar with the game in question.

Pokemon Z should be the ultimate 6th Gen game, combining the best of of X & Y an, if its a hack, all 721 Pokemon available without trading.
Leave the trainers as they are.

I'm just gonna put my two cents here.

What you're planning on doing is very complicated and involved. If you think you're going to be able to do all of this with just pk3ds and some model/sprite/sound hacking tools, then you're in for a pretty big disappointment. This sort of stuff probably involves things like modification of CRX's at the very least, which, at this point in time, nobody knows how to do reliably (afaik, maybe someone has). If you were just going to change some game/story text, modify trainers/wilds, and maybe a few texture/model modifications here and there, then that would be a more feasible project that I'd be looking forward to, but what you have planned sounds like a huge project that would take months (maybe years) to complete. And, as @Buttsnake already said, it looks like an official Pokemon Z will be coming out soon, so you might wanna reconsider your project.

My recommendation: Go for a simple romhack, maybe one that just changes the game/story text about and other game data a little.

Hopefully I wasn't too harsh. Like I said, I'm just dropping my two cents here.

This. It unfortunately comes down to a lot more than "Romhacking sounds cool i'm gonna do it!" There is tons and tons and tons and tons of romhacks out there. Most of them never get finished, or they're too convoluted and get abandoned.

The best thing to do is start small, as he said.
