Homebrew [Question] How to Interpret System.getFirmware()?

You can use System.checkBuild but don't know if R3 ones is good (i recently patched this function also in repository).

EDIT: I think this just tests if the executable is a .cia/3ds or 3dsx... Not exactly what I was looking for.

you could check both, kernel and cver. In this way you will be able to check if the firmware is able to run a cfw, and if the kernel version is the one of 9.2 or lower, wich means that you are able to boot a cfw, or if the kernel version is higher, which means, that you are using a cfw.

Yeah that would work fine, except I don't think lpp has a way to check the cver. I'd have to rewrite the app in C, and I really don't feel like doing that. I decided on asking a prompt to the user, if the program is not sure if they are using cfw or not, you'll see in the release.
