We need to have o3ds/n3ds sections split???
No we don't.

Just like how we have a single PSP section for all models - including those with increased RAM, there is no reason to split the 3DS section as ultimately, o3DS and n3DS are the same platform.

You should probably add that the DSP has been accessed so there will be further speed improvements to emulation on the O3DS on the 1st post. Oh and Picodrive doesn't play GG games. Only Genesis Plus GX does. Unless all your GG roms happen to be in .bin format vs the standard .gg format.

That explains the problems I was having trying Game Gear roms to play. All of the ones I have ARE in .gg format. Is it like that for RetroArch on other platforms or is that a problem specific to the 3DS?

I'm not sure but you should just use the Genesis Plus GX core. It works great with GG games.

If you turn sound off in Genesis Plus GX and have a bios, it runs decent with Megadrive games! Playing Sonic Classic Heroes now!
How much better compared to Picodrive?
Sonic 2 goes like 50fps with sound on picodrive, meanwhile on Genplus it goes like 30 with sound off.

Breaking O3DS NEWS: We are getting an extra 16 MB of ram! This will make some emulators that are almost full speed (Picodrive, Mendafan PCE) may run full speed!

Welcome to the O3DS Hub! Today's menu? Homebrew NH2.0!

Great games? We have em in stock!
  • WhackMania
  • Portal3ds
  • PrBOOM
  • NxEngine
  • Spectre3ds
  • Jumping Jack
  • Pixel Swap
  • Pixel Shuffle

Full speed emulators? We got em!
  • Picodrive - SMS, GG, Gen (almost full speed, over full speed in some parts) NO LONGER REQUIRES CIA! NOW WORKS ON 3DSX LOADERS!
  • GenPlusGX - GG, SMS (You should use picodrive, though)
  • Handy - Lynx
  • Pokemini - PokeMini
  • Gameyob - GB/GBC
  • Breadbox - C64
  • Spectrum Test Emuator - Spectrum
  • QuickNES - NES
  • And the one that started it all: BlargSNES - SNES
Note: Smashhax does not work on O3DS. All of these emulators run full speed with no kernel access.
You should add the Retroarch Gamebatte core as an alternative to GameYob, it works quite well.

Nice, this thread is awesome!

Does anyone know how to change quickNES' resolution to either to 1:1 or to keep NES' aspect ratio? Also I'm having trouble remapping the buttons. Thanks!

Look Below

  • 6Q. I prefer to have all of my games display in their native resolution (1:1 resolution/graphics). How can I do this?
  • 6A. Go to Configuration -> Video -> Integer Scale and turn it on, and then go up to Aspect Ratio Index and change it to the setting that has "(1:1 PAR)" in it. This will give you the correct screen size, and the correct aspect ratio.

As for control mapping, I don't have my 3DS on me at the moment, so I can't help you there.
