Can not get it to work on my N3DS...
Starting from CN to Homebrew lauchner... rxTools (rxTools_09-17-15_19-37.3b70ee8) freezes at the installation dialog while two of the four blocks are filled.
The firmware was tryied to be copied to data, but it gets 0kb size.

On N3DS, installation fails, every time. If you want to use the latest nightlies, you should remove anything in the data folder (other than the renamed firmware.bin file) and just expect an installation error until 3.0 comes out of beta.

Read my reply on page 604 if you need more details on the renamed firmware.bin.

Ok. so I have to wait until a final release for N3DS?
No. You'll just get an installation warning every time. The CFW aspect works perfectly fine. Only the bells and whistles need to be fixed on N3DS. If your folders are set up correctly, you should be given the option to continue anyway...

Ok... I put the renamed firmware.bin right from the start into the data folder.
After starting rxTools I get an error but like you said it is skipable.
So now it is working.

Is rxTools going to add support for the homemenuhax/themehax entrypoint? That would be by far the most convenient way to access the CFW.
Neither of those exploits have kernel access so it be uselrss

Glad you got it sorted. I'm in Tokyo for the weekend without a computer, so I wouldn't be able to give you the md5 until Sunday evening, Japan time. It has been posted several times in this thread though. 600+ pages is intimidating as hell though...

My firmware.bin is working but I think it had a different MD5 than I found here somewhere.
So it would be great if someone could again post the right MD5 for the firmware.bin for N3DS.

No hurry :)

Sorry for the extremely basic question. I'm just moving over to this and so there's a lot I don't understand. I want to install rxtools on my O3DS so I can use my Gateway primarily on my N3DS without switching between the two. My O3DS has 4.1 SysNAND and 10.1 EmuNAND installed using Gateway.

Following the instructions, I can get rxtools to boot using the MSET exploit. Awesome. I can also boot into SysNAND in rxtools mode. However, I get a black screen when trying to boot into EmuNAND. I was led to believe that 10.1 does work. I of course have firmware.bin inside rxtools/sys and slot0x25KeyX.bin in the root of the SD.

What is the latest firmware support for O3DS? I run 10.1.0-27, and I'd like to install custom firmware but have no idea if I need to downgrade, buy a flashcard, etc. I'm currently running tubehax, if that helps.

rxTools or any other CFW only supports up to 9.2
You also can't downgrade.
All you can do is use Sky3DS and play homebrew with tubehax

Hmm well at the very least, we can use homemenuhax to boot to the HBC on system startup, and then run Rxtools from there right? That would be nice.
