@SLiV3R Nope, 1:1 won't cut it, unfortunately, because the RetroArch menu doesn't know what the correct 1:1 ratio is for this platform. The core is supposed to report to the RetroArch menu what its resolution is, but apparently this hasn't been done for the PC Engine core. This isn't a 3DS issue, the same thing is likely happening to everyone across all RetroArch platforms. It's just more of a hassle here since individual core settings aren't currently working, so you can't just set and forget if you want to keep using other cores.

The pce core doesn't report correct geometry because medanfen doesn't do it either the core can't report numbers that are just not there.

About N64 emulation. Some people like shinyquagsire23 and other guys who knows stuff about the 3ds claims that the n3ds has 804 MHz and 192 MB RAM. If that is correct I'm 100 % sure both ps1 and n64 emulation can be enjoyable on the n3ds with dynarec.

But there is a BIG but.... Someone who has a lot of experience and is skilled like aliaspider has to put thousands of hours to make ps1 or n64 enjoyable on the n3ds with dynarec.

So ps1 and n64 is possible... But it ain't gonna happen obviously :)

Well, the only way to find out is to Port the Cores and see what happens with a bit of tinkering. If it doesnt work, it doesnt work. If it does, then hey, another Core the N3DS can handle. Only problem is, the .cia Installers need to get access to the CNub and ZL/ZR Buttons. Im guessing the .3dsx Versions somehow have access to them like PrBoom, GameYob, and I am sure a few others. Need to find out how they have it so the .cia Versions can use them. Would give some Cores and other Emus Devs want to make have more Options.
Also wondering if Virtual Boy is still being looked at? Of all the Cores, this is the only one that is only running slow even on the N3DS. Nestopia has almost Full Speed, but last time I tried that Core, half the Screen was missing and the side that was shown was Full Screen. LOL

You can't just port mupen, there is no GL on the 3ds

There's a GL port, but I don't know if it's complete enough to do anything with.

Is catsfc using snesadvance speedhacks?

Gambatte .cia and gpsp.cia are now working with the 4/3 resolution.
Something that could be implemented a a proper way to scale the screen. Try, for example GameYob, the fullscreen option get a way better quality, in my opinion. This is not blurry at all.
I've seen that you were speaking about it yesterday, indeed I think this is a great idea to get some setting to get it to work.

eeprom saves still broken in gpsp.cia.

i just wanted to state the problem in super mario world where u cant move from the moment you are in a level (CATSFC)
this is a known problem, but does anybody know what this problem causes? can it be fixed easilly?

its one of the games i want to play most :)

It's a bug. The sound gets distorted when you mess around in the menu while the game is running.
It becomes distorted no matter what for me. It's weird and it's like a bug that goes in and out. Like there are times are great, then it craps out, but then the distortion goes away.

I have a question about Sega Genesis emulation. Genesis plus and Picodrive are running kinda slow on old3ds. Picodrive runs slightly better. Are they only running well on New3ds? Also, Picodrive won't load any games from the homebrew launcher in Ninjhax 2.1. Is there any way to improve emulation to full speed on old3ds? Thanks!

They only run well on n3DS. Use Jenesis, or VC Injection for now. Either of those will run mostly fullspeed even on o3ds and have 80+ % compatibility

If there was a way to turn off the bottom screen I would forget that I'm using an emulator on gpsp cia with dynarec. Every game I play runs at 59-60fps with perfect sound. If I put the 3ds to sleep and then continue gameplay the audio gets distorted so I do a quick savestate and reset the cia. No other gba emulator gives me full screen, speed and great sound. I'm using a new 3ds on 9.0 sysnand. Thanks again.! :gba:

I've not been keeping up with the progress of the retroarch ports as much as I should have, and have just checked into this thread for the first time in a couple of weeks.
I've got to say I'm massively impressed.
Impressed, yet also massively daunted... it's a dream come true for me that CPS1+2 and NeoGeo emulation is now a reality on the 3ds, but I'm not sure where to begin - roms for most emulators are a doddle to deal with (the zip's named the same as the game, just unzip and dump the file in a folder on your 3ds sd), but the FBA romset is a lot more complicated. For a start, the current complete FBA romset is over 12Gb. The roms are named to follow the same convention as MAME, and as such it's not particularly easy to discern what rom ties up with what game (or even what hardware) - plus, it's similar to MAME in that it uses a 'parent' rom and 'clones', 'bootlegs', other region versions, etc are separate zips but still require the various files in the 'parent' zip to work.
I'm guessing that the roms from the FBA set shouldn't be unzipped and will run from their archive? ...otherwise there's going to be a rather messy folder!
Anyone got any advice or preliminary findings they can share on the FBA cores?

Yes Google cps1 and the others to get the complete list of games made for them. Then download the ones that you want.
All cps1 work and only 1 don't work for cps2 hyper street fighter. I have all the others working There's a few neo geo not working yet due to the large size.
Thanks Retroarch these emulators are amazing

Anyone managed to get some PC-Engine CD-Rom images to work?
I placed the syscard3.pce into the same folder as the CD images, my CD images are in .CUE/.ISO format
- Bomberman_'94_Taikenban.cue
- Bomberman_'94_Taikenban.iso
but the emulator freezes (Used Bomberman_94_Taikenban, this image is only 7Mb)

Last lines are;

CD Layout:
Track 1, LBA: 0 Audio
Track 2, LBA: 3234 DATA
Leadout: 3545
Using module: pce_fast(PC Engine (CD)/TurboGrafx 16 (CD)/SuperGrafx)
