Is there a PC Engine core in this setup, and if so, which one is it? I'd like to try Neutopia and Rondo of Blood, if they work. It would be nice to have a portable version of both.

For Sega CD, Genesis Plus GX wont run it huh? Tried running Sonic CD and it locked up with a Msg saying it could not Load Content. Does not have enough Samples for Monitor Refresh Rate Estimation. Requires to run for at least 4096 Frames.
I have 'us_scd2_9306' in this Folder: GATEWAYNAND(N:)/retroarch/cores/system
If this is not correct, where should this BIOS be?

How do you know that Dynarec is enabled in gpsp .cia? Is there something in the settings or is enabled by default?

Just tried SMRPG on CATSFC core. It stopped working during the intro cinematic, but claims to still be running. I'm at a black screen with no sound, waiting for the scene where Bowser takes Peach to the castle to start.

EDIT: Tried testing out GPSP using Metroid Zero Mission. Does this need the BIOS to work, and where do I put it for the 3dsx version? It crashed when I picked the game, and I'm going to need to restart the whole system to get things working again.

For retroarch all bios files goes into the systems folder. The system folder is a subfolder in the retroarch folder on root that gets created on first boot.

And apparently after looking around on Libretro Page looking at the Wiki on each System, any Bios HAVE to be labeled correctly.
This is how for example any Sega Bios:
Genesis Plus GX supports usage of actual BIOS image files rather than emulating them. Only Sega CD/Mega CD emulation requires a real BIOS to work. It is recommended to use a BIOS from a Model 1 system, but other are expected to work too.
  • bios_CD_E.bin (MegaCD EU BIOS)
  • bios_CD_U.bin (SegaCD US BIOS)
  • bios_CD_J.bin (MegaCD JP BIOS)
  • bios_E.sms (MasterSystem EU BIOS)
  • bios_U.sms (MasterSystem US BIOS)
  • bios_J.sms (MasterSystem JP BIOS)
  • bios.gg (GameGear BIOS)
  • sk.bin (Sonic & Knuckles (2 MiB) ROM)
  • sk2chip.bin (Sonic & Knuckles UPMEM (256 KiB) ROM)
  • areplay.bin (Action Replay (Pro) ROM)
  • ggenie.bin (Game Genie ROM)
Also, dont try to do a Save State using Virtual Boy. It gets to Saved state to slot # and then locks up

I have been waiting for these emulators for a year or two. And there has been almost nothing.

Within a week you have served us with near perfect emulators for many systems. Just Amazing! :)

I noticed that there are small rests from the screen tearing. In secret of Mana 3 you can see it. Not a high priority, just wanted to say that there are small issues left.

Again, congratulations and thanks for your Retroarch on the 3ds! :)

Check the path and name of the file. SD://retroarch/cores/system/gba_bios.bin

And @Margen67 could you not like every single post of mine? I woke up to 48 alerts today. Lol.
Bios is in the right place, tried the newer version but the issue still persists. EDIT: Was an issue with the bios file, got a new one and the issue is gone.

PRO TIP!!! Do not change your input method away from 3DS controller otherwise you won't be able to do anything! Learnt the hard way trying to see other controller options.

pro tip 2: if you ever do that, you can still panic quit retroarch by pressing L+R+START+SELECT ;) , the only downside is that config will be saved in this case :P

Yeah, everyone seems to be having issues with SMRPG at the moment. CatSFC is the fastest of the two, but Snes9x seems to be better at emulating those "special" games, even if it is a bit slow. You can get past the freezing point if you use Snes9x, but you'll only get about 30-40 FPS. But for other games, like Kirby's Dream Land 3, which uses the SA-1 chip, you'll get 30-40fps if you use Snes9x, but only 6-10 in CatSFC.

Hopefully CatSFC becomes more compatible soon, or Snes9x becomes faster. Only a matter of time!

Edit: Now that I'm thinking about it, what are the chances we can make Snes9x faster by adding a frameskip option? It would probably only need to skip maybe 1-2 frames in order to run most games at a playable speed.

LOL. Catsfc more compatible :) People's memories are short. LOL.

Catsfc has around 90-95 % compatibility. (Of those 70-80 games i have tried) Last week we had blargSNES which have around 60% compatibility. LOL.

We're a hard group to please, aren't we? :P

Has anybody else noticed s drop in framerate with the Mednafed NGP core? It seems to be running at around 50fps now - I swear it was full speed in previous builds.

If I was the author of blargSNES I'd probably abandon it now...blargSNES as I understand it was written for the 3DS...and here you all are chucking it out cause retroarch has come along.

We o3ds owners need blargSNES and I for one am very happy with it, and I'm grateful for it...the author if you're nice and stop slagging his work off might make native emu's for everything else.

Good for you? I'm using both. Not everything is black and white.

I haven't got a n3ds and I've got no plans to get one, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, statistically there must be way more o3ds' than n3ds'...if things carry on like this it will cause the majority of users to be ignored.

You're not being ignored. These ports just won't work on the o3DS without a kernel exploit. Your system is too slow.

I know...but there is no reason why native emu's like blargsnes can't be created...and retroarch while being very convenient is not suited to the o3ds...but we'll have a situation where 75% (total guess) of the users will be ignored cause they've done a load of lazy ports and 25% are happy.

Is that acceptable?

Sorry for calling you a wet blanket btw, I'm a bit too direct at times.

You are a little bit too 'realistic' though....you've got to dream man...:)

Someone feels entitled don't they? Do you know how much work it is making an emulator from scratch? Also, I'm sure that number is closer to 50/50. A lot of people sold their o3DS to get a n3DS.
