Yeah they are. Word is next update will have critical firmware patches and serious webkit patches. It would make complete sense to get working on a hardware hack when the softmods get stifled.

FYI, just to clarify, these are nothing more than rumors right now. Also fun fact, officially licensed indie developers don't get any info about upcoming security patches/updates until they go live. We know just as much as the general public does, so its nothing more than speculation...
Just wanted to make that clear ;)

Frequently asked question: How much money you made from eShop? (price and copies sold)

Hi, I'm new on this, and I've been wondering... If you can replace N64 games, can you replace games from other systems in virtual console? And when will this be available, if it will?

So, there is no reason you can't replace a DS game and make it work fine... Am I right?

The other problem is they have to find which ones can used as a template as not all ROMs injected will work with ever VC DS ROM, it will be some time before we know more.

Another major issue as well, if your on say FW5.3.2 which I am and you need say VC Mario 64 as the template copy your knackered because you cant enter e-shop to grab a copy, unless of cause you we're very lucky like me and grabbed a copy before hand but again back to another issue, who's saying VC Mario 64 will even work well as the original template copy! I'm going  writing this I need a rest!!!

Well just based on my N64 stuff, the whole framework is in every app, and each rom/GameID stamp has its own settings to apply fixes, so you could theoretically figure out what fixes it needs and make a new one to load.

Are we likely to see emulators start to roll out now that the kernel exploit is out in the wild?
Emulators can already be ported, it seems, the problem is lack of interest in people wanting to take the time.

Edit: Addendum, as such...I fear the worst :(

How likely is save injection at this stage. I ask because I bought Paper Mario for a discount because I had the wii version, but the save doesnt transfer over from vWii! Id love to inject the same save, hopefully their the same format.
They literally just use the original cart as a rom, so it should be identical unless they apply like patches or something which I doubt. Just need to find it in memory and dump it. Could probs even just use pyGecko and search for the same data.

Well Im coding illiterate, so I guess Ill have to wait. Thanks for the input though. The lack of save transfer really annoyed me, I was halfway through the game already

So yeah, in essence, emulators aren't going to happen I fear, the fact I know nothing of programming and people are unmotivated, so, let's not bother having hope in seeing them, hmm kay?

Its not the biggest loss, I could just play it in vWii mode, and every console ever emulates now
