I'm VERY curious as to what the NX is, as a successor to both the 3DS and Wii U. Maybe the controller will be a clamshell like the 3DS that recieves a stream to from the console like the Wii U tablet, but becomes a portable game console on the go? Plus games are cross platform?

Any chance the NX might be a tablet peripheral that works with the wiiu with upgraded tablet features and can play as a standalone device. People originaly believed the wiiu was a peripheral for the wii, so maybe it might be something like that.

Sure. Nintendo loves to put lipstick on a pig.

Except you can't call anyone on the phone unless you have their friend code and you have a limited number of allowed sms's per day.
Don't forget it will be a flip phone with super stable 3D and a mSD slot that requires disassembly to access.

Let the games begin!!! :D This sunbitch better be running on top of some version of AOSP!

i knew it the NX is nintendos version of ouya

I'm mostly fine with that but I was hoping for some sort of HDMI pass through. If I'm going to be forced to have multiple boxes, at least make it easy for me to not have to keep switching inputs, geez! Obviously for me, the Wii U will be hanging around. I seriously doubt Nintendo will be using the same Power PC architecture as with GC, Wii, Wii U. I would be extremely surprised if that happened. I want my games played on as few boxes as possible.

that would mean you have to either stream or download all the games. have you tried downloading a 10+ gb game on a shitty 10mb connection (if i'm lucky to even get that speed on a nintendo server) ?!

no thnx

edit - now their saying it's going to use carts again!!! :rofl2:

How old are you, 12? lmao you need better internet.

Anyways, looks like it might be something like the PS TV with New 3DS influences. Maybe you can insert a handheld NX game cart into the system and play it on the TV with graphical improvements? There's not much to speculate on since there's barely any info. But you guys have to be delusional if you really think its going to be like a goddamn Ouya lolol

patent filing means NOTHING. Sony did file a few silly patents during the conception of the ps4.

Seems like we're on the same thinking path. I can imagine this new console using the same model game cards as the 3DS but when you use those cards in this new console, you will have a near XB1 experience (considering that rumor says NX to be more powerful than Wii U but not as powerful as PS4). As long as all current Wii U relates controllers are supported and we have enough USB ports, add a little splash of AOSP and I'll be sold.

not everyone can get 100mb connections you IDIOT. plus knowing nintendos servers they will never even reach them speeds
You might.have to wait roughly 5 hours per game at 10 Mb/s I'm technically at 25 Mb/s but I haven't checked my Wii U's actual speed in a while. It takes me roughly an hour and a half to download and install a 10GB game via Nintendo's servers. Maybe 30-45 minutes to download that same size PC game depending on source.
