Hacking Gateway on 3DS Japanese?

I have a Japanese 3DS on firmware 5.X. I read the new gateway exploit using OoT can work on all 3DS. Do I need to have a Japanese OoT because I only have a USA version of it. Also how do I apply the exploit? Is it buy the Gateway first then just follow the instructions to apply the exploit?

Also, which/where can I buy a gateway for a reasonable price?

You should use the browser exploit.
Put the GW Launcher.dat on the root of the 3ds SD, and then open the web browser and go to: go.gateway-3ds.com
Then follow some manual to downgrade to 4.x and set up emuNand and you are ready to go.

Will I be able to install gateway that way? Thanks XD

Err.... sorry to disappoint, but the browser exploit doesn't work on N3DS.

I see, thanks. So it's either Sky3ds or a jap cooy of a cartridge then.
