Hacking [Tutorial] Setting up Reinand CFW from scratch

I did exactly as you said:

Turn off your 3DS > Take out the mSD > Turn on 3DS without mSD > Format the system from System Settings > Go through setup process >Turn off > Insert mSD >

Now I cant seem to install the gateway exploit anymore...this Exploit Failed: 00000005 c86044cd

Ah gotcha, I got confused and thought you had the same problem as joex11.
Formatting the Sysnand wipes the profile exploit, but you can use your DsTwo to install the Rninstaller again.
I've done that about 5x myself. :|

additional info: removing reinand files (rei folder and reinand.dat) makes the mset error go away. Now I can click nintendo ds profile, but nothing happens, instead of the error

edit: I guess the launcher.dat is making the error

I get them trying to load the blue card or trying to load the nintendo ds profile. other than that no errors

Try dropping the files from the download back onto your mSD (with the rei files you have now removed)

Now the error is gone, with all the files on the msd, but so is the exploit... I'll try make my blue gateway card work somehow

edit: yep, still error making me turn off the 3ds when I try to use the blue card

At first I was thinking you just installed the wrong mset exploit. Try doing it again with the files on the mSD & pressing Start.
It's supposed to boot into a black lower screen, with a black upper with the logo Reinand - 'Press start'

I mean try launching the profile exploit again. To where you get the black screen.

<_< >_> So.. I've just changed my mset about 20 more times in the past 10 minutes & don't want to drop cfw to go check again atm. Fairly sure they're for other cfws / exploits. Same as within FBI unofficial.

Iirc that's the gba emulator? It should have a .3ds & .cia version.

@joex11 You said you installed your bluecardfix.cia, but it wasn't working.
Try removing the files from your bluecards mSD & dropping the contents of For NDS Flashcart + contents of Blue Card (R4i) from one of the latest gateway releases onto it.

1. Don't FBI and DevMenu do the exact same thing? Why do we use one to install the other?
2. Can you explain why we use Pasta CFW in steps 2 and 4?
3. Why do we "prepare" sysNAND only to inject a backup of it to emuNAND? Can't we just do step 2 on emuNAND?
4. What does ROP stand for?
5. If I use my NDS flashcart for the profile exploit, can I still use it to play NDS games?
6. If I want to unlink my NANDs, when would I do that?

1. You need Devmenu to install the Mset.cia
2. Pasta boots you into sysnand with signatures patched (You need this to be able to install unlegit stuff to the Sysnand with FBI) - Reinand doesn't have an option to turn off firmlaunch atm as far as i'm aware.
3. You want to install the Mset to the Sysnand, not the emunand

6. Once everything is done. You can remove the mSD > Format the Sysnand > Go through the setup process > Reinsert emunand. - you'll need to reinstall the ROP to sysnand.

1. well FBI is probably the best cia manager (imo), BUT, its a tad on the "advanced" side and gives users the ability to delete system titles etc, so seeing as this is a noob friendly guide its best not to have newbies messing with tools that could potentially brick their system if the mess about with it....that and dev menu cannot be launched via ninjhax, so we need to get devmenu installed with a ninjhax compatible cia installer, and even more, FBI has a handy MSET profile installer so it serves 3 purposes having FBI in there, but keeping dev menu as the final cia installer makes it safer for newbies, if they feel like playing with FBI instead they can find it and install it themselves, but this guide was just to give people what they need to get up and running

Have you checked with the developers mentioned if it's okay for you distribute their work? It seems improper to me, and somewhat disrespectful.

The second issue it causes is that the files will be out of date quickly, especially reiNAND which is being updated frequently. The right, and sensible thing to do would be to link to the official sources of the files. Otherwise you'll be needing to update, and upload a new version of your "all-in-one" archive with every new update of reiNAND and FBI.

Hey I was wrong, I was able to run via Nintendo ds profile and bootup the reinand.. but I cant open gateway menu!!
Any way to make it run? or how I convert back to my gateway emunand? hope someone can answer asap.
