If you want to emulate ET, there's a patch to fix some obvious problems at http://www.neocomputer.org/projects/et/ .

I don't know where there's a prepatched version, but I wouldn't be surprised if ROM sets contain it by now.

It's actually a pretty good game. It became famous as shitty because AVGN said so and ask his brain dead fans followed. I played a lot of 2600 games and ET was once of the best. You want to experience a bad 2600 game? Try firefly.

Yeah, so great that the company that produced or developed it buried thousands of its copies to try and erase it from video game existence...

On the topic of Atari though, it doesn't get much better than Warlords for me. 4 people in a room with that game even now can become enemies.
