When I played Darksiders 2 it felt pretty much like a Prince of Persia game but it seems pointless to release it on PS4, XO and especially the Wii U (2012).

what are you talking about, the original prince of persia for DOS would be really neat to play on the wii u gamepad

I probably won't buy it, certainly not if they're charging the full price of a new and original game, but hopefully revenue will go toward financing a third in the series.

I have the first one, and liked it a whole lot. I havent had time to play the second one yet, but ill probably buy this. Id like to get all the DLC and stuff in one place.

Maybe if people would stop wanking over games getting remastered, companies wouldn't, y'know, remaster them. It's like...so many gamers are screaming and crying that X company won't re-release "super amazing X game on my super amazing console!" then when they do other gamers scream "BUT WE WANTED SOMETHING NEW "

Really? Three years is long enough to get a remaster treatment nowadays? I wouldn't be surprised if this game doesn't make it onto Xbox One's "backward compatiblity" list.

Wait. Who owns this IP?
Nordic Games

Edit: Formerly THQ owned it, but when they went to bankruptcy hell, Nordic Games bought some of their more prominent IP rights.

To be fair, Nordic Games only got the IP rights to Darksiders in 2013 and the THQ trademarks in 2014. They are likely testing the waters to see if they should continue on with the IP as is, lay it to rest, or take it in a different direction. This is a sensible remaster especially if they could see the game as being more than what THQ ended up turning out.

As a more general edit:

Bundling together all previously released DLC, Nordic’s Deathinitive Edition is being handled by Gunfire Games, a development studio made up by many of the staffers that worked on the original release three years ago before THQ filed for bankruptcy.

The article also goes into how they rewrote the entire renderer and such, so the game could end up looking pretty nice. It will be hard to argue if they price it sensibly, but honestly, they could probably get away with a $60 pricetag since this is essentially the GOTY edition of the game.

Last edited by Nathan Drake,
Lol and they remaster the WORST OF THE TWO? It's gonna be a shipwreck.

I played both, loved the first one, didn't even finish the second one - it was SO BAD.

This game is actually really good but without sticking the first game in with it it's pointless. I wouldn't buy it either way, I'd buy DS3 though!

Why would it be pointless? The game plots run parallel to each other. Knowing the plot of the first game would help a little, but is not absolutely necessary towards understanding Darksiders 2 as a whole.

Well it's about the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse, wouldn't you like to play War's story first? Then Death's then the third game could be both Strife & Fury (devs changed the names).
