I recently softmodded my wii and want to play some xenoblade chronicles, FE radiant dawn TLOZ skyward sword etc. however the games are over 4GB which FAT32 doesn't let me add them to my usb thumb drive. How do I split them into smaller files so they can fit? Also, will they freeze a lot if by doing this splitting them?

Use Wii Backup Manager to install them as wbfs files. It can automatically split the files so they will fit.

It's perfectly stable, however results with flash drives will vary wildly. Most of them don't support the full USB protocol.

usually, users with flashdrive can play games without problem.
only adding new game/dumping/writing from inside the loader is not working.

write & auto-split game with wii backup manager, then see if your drive works in read mode.
if it does, then it's fine :)
if not, you might want to use an external HDD.

So whatever games I put on my thumb drive and add to my wii the first time, won't let me pick and choose different/more games I want to put on it in the future?
Why can't you add more games or take out old ones?

I only got a 32gb usb sandisk cruzer glide and a 1tb seagate backup I think last I checked they were both fine playing games off of.

It depends on the device. I have 8 Sandisk flash drives and only one of them seems to work with my Wii without freezing.

I never said you will be stuck with old games.

I said Flashcard/flash stick/usb keys/etc. have issues in write mode on the Wii.
If you want to write games to it, you need to use your computer + WiiBackupManager to transfer the ISO to USB stick.

Just don't dump game disc directly from inside the loader to USB.
If you really want to dump your disc, use another HDD (not flash, a real Hard drive) or use CleanRip and dump to SD card then use WiiBackupManager to transfer to USB.
