Hacking Newbie needs help with rxtools!

Hi, there I'm not sure if I'm asking in the right place so if I'm not, then I'm sorry. Anyways I can't seem to get emuNand to launch by using rxtools, everytime I pick the first option on rxtools the screen stays black and never boots the emunand dashboard. Both emunand and syskeys captions are green at the bottom so I'm at a loss, not sure what to do, kinda stuck. Would appreciate the help if you guys would be so kind. Thanks!

Have you Firmware.bin on your Sd?

When Yes than Format your Emunand and Try Again.

When No

Backup your Sd Card Content on your Computer.
Use Gateway Launcher.dat and Format your Emunand.
Use Rxtools Cdn_Firm.exe it Download you the Firmware.bin and After Formating the Emunand put it on your Sd Card back.
Than Try Again to boot into RxEmunand.

Hi there, thanks for the reply, I tried what you said; I formatted the emunand through Gateway Launcher.dat and went through all the trouble twice and still have the same problem. I'm stuck here and don't know what to do, don't seem to understand what I'm doing wrong here, any other suggestions?

P.S. I tried to do it on 2 different SD cards thinking that maybe it was the brand of the one that I was using but I had no luck with any of the two.

are u able to boot to emunand?try use mt card launcher n boot into classic mode

I went into the MTcard menu and tried going into classic mode and no it did not boot, black screen as well.

it mean ur emunand is not properly created.try creating emunand using mtcard instead.if still failed,try formating system nand

Ok, guide me through this so that I don't do anything wrong and brick my 3DS. So should i just load MTcard and go to format EmuNand? By the way I've injected Rednand into the EmuNand prior to proceding with RXtools; does that have anything to do with it not booting?

just reformand emunand. it should work. later u can find another solution for injecting rednand to emunand.

I did not know that, I'm new to this 3DS hacking, I just followed a tutorial at another forum which had the redNand injecting process before using rxTools. Would you be so kind and tell me what the redNAND actually do? I know it is needed for Palantine CFW.

Have you already used Palantine to install an installer CIA? (i.e. BigBlueBox or FBI) Don't do this yet if you haven't, but if you have, use the tools I'm attaching. Just run "RedNAND_to_EmuNAND.bat" (right click -> run as administrator, it won't work otherwise) and that'll change your redNAND back into an emuNAND that's compatible with rxTools. It takes a little time. Should you need to go back to RedNAND, just run EmuNAND_to_RedNAND.bat instead.

If you need help getting an installer CIA on your 3DS first, let me know.

I had but i formatted the EmuNand so It's not there anymore. Did i screwed up if I did?

I could re-do the old process and try what you just told me and see if it works.

No big deal, just do it again then, yeah. Format emuNAND, convert and inject RedNAND (you can probably just re-inject the one you already have if you haven't deleted it), boot Palantine with L, network-install FBI.cia (highly recommended over BBB), convert rednand back to emuNAND with those tools I uploaded, boot with rxTools.

Thanks man, I will try that. That's probably what I was missing, was reading before you posted and read something about converting it back but since I've just got into this I wasn't sure. Will try and write back how it went.

Assuming you're using the signature-patched rxTools, you should be able to run FBI the same as if you were in Palantine, and you can also freely update emuNAND to 9.8 (WARNING: once you're in system settings, make sure it says "RX-E" before the firmware number, then go *directly* to Other Options, then update firmware, without ever leaving system settings; leaving system settings will put you back on sysnand)

Also, if you'd like, I can give you an MSET code.bin to install that'll boot rxTools from the DS profile without having to go through the browser (and thus require an internet connection) every time, though you'll have to have internet access to go back and forth between the rxTools and launcher.dat exploits.

Palantine's compability is limited (Games with no 7.x keys usually) and has a poor boot rate. rxPasta / modified rxTools requires extra steps but allows just about every game and with a 100% boot rate.
