Hacking maximum microSD Card Size for new nintendo 3DS?

Hey I'm interested in installing CIAs for games so thinking of upgrading my SD card on new nintendo 3DS.

whats the max size card it supports? Could i get a 64GB?

Edit: If you do a google search on max size, some people say they use a 64gb internal micro sd just formatted to fat32.

Yes, you can use even 128gb micro sd card (which is the top on the market right now). I formatted my 64gb card to fat32, and it does work, and recognize the block size correctly on the N3DS.

I have a 64 microsd and it works fine, formatted to fat32.

I'm pretty sure any microsd card will work as long it is formatted to fat32.

Thanks guys, I just went for a 32GB for ease of compatibility. CBA with cluster size/block size stuff etc.

Basically being lazy. Also the 64GB was £25-27, the 32GB was £9.99

Interesting, in the US, I purchased a Samsung 64GB EVO card for $22 USD (14.41 GBP) a few days ago. Still, it is odd that the price would be that disparaging, in every instance I have seen, more storage = less $$$ per GB, except if you want to purchase 128gbs. Nonetheless, hopefully 32GBs suites all your needs!

Nintendo recommend 32gb as the max but other that are bigger do indeed work if they are formatted in the required version.

yeah once you get over about 32gb it starts to be on a card to card basis, some will work others won't, just depends on brand, model etc....just check for others experiences to find out what models have worked for people, doesnt help that half the people having issues with bigger cards probably bought fake cards from china for $2 and thats why they cant use it.....but i know once you start exceeding the normal limits be sure to check compatibility first....but i think for the most part, the large majority of 64GB cards will be ok, 128GB cards will probably be a bit hit n miss, and anything over that and your just going overkill
