We know that, but not on 9.x systems, which is the case here

9.x => Downgrade to 4.x => DS exploit.

As I said in my previous message :

Support for O3DS with the new exploit is different, they would also have to support Cubic Ninja or OOT first, as you need to be able to run the gateway menu and launch gateway mode to install the 4.5 cia on the N3DS.

So the answer is because it's far different. Only offline method they could use for now on 9.x would be to port the N3DS exploit. They might probably port it one day but I don't see it being one of their priorities. They probably think O3DS are became enough cheap to just sell/buy another 3DS if the one you bought don't work with the browser exploit.

they so should of just bundled the whitelist downgrade with it and added the n3DS option to the profile installer for the blue card so then there is no need for oot or CN and you can just sell it on if thats what you want, i know most people already downgraded or broke the whitelist anyway, but would of been useful.......btw i guess this means they have disabled the version check now so we can install titles with a older version without uninstalling first :).....i wonder if there is any other under the hood tweaks

You are missing the point, the old method to downgrade to 4.5 results in 4.5 system. This method only downgrade system settings. They aren't in any way the same.

Also, I don't think they would need to port the cubic ninja or Zelda support for old 3ds for this. It is is only used as an entry point the first time to install the CIA. But we can always use the online method instead as an entry point and install the CIA.

Again, that's how I understand it, unless I am missing something

also i can confirm, super stable 3D calibration is missing from my system settings on both emunand and sysnand

How did that happen? Were your sysnand and emunand LINKED? Or did you create new emunand from sysnand AFTER installing the MSET exploit?

On old 3ds I could run system settings as an app (after rebuilding it as sd app w/ makerom). Maybe the same could be done here for n3ds.

but that CIA wouldn't have booted on sysnand right?

How did that happen? Were your sysnand and emunand LINKED? Or did you create new emunand from sysnand AFTER installing the MSET exploit?

The NVRAM Install downgrades your sysnand settings to a 4.5ish version to work with the MSET exploit, so because there was no 4.5 settings app with n3ds features, they are gone, along with Nintendo Network ID settings

Did you forget to swap out the microSD card and accidentally install it to your emuNAND? Their instructions were very unclear that you need to do that.

What do you mean by swapping the microSD ?

You most likely forgot to import the cia file.

Or you installed it on your emuNAND.

Maybe installed on emuNAND..

Guess my suspicions were correct this time. They were waiting on the 3DS update 9.7 that Nintendo had announced they'd release. Actually glad they did now. It was worth the weight.

Too bad I have no current use for the update at the moment besides stopping it from bugging me, ha.
