I have a wii U version 5.3.2u. I am trying to play backups from my hard drive for wii games. I did the return of the jodi exploit on my console. Now do I just have to install a usb loader? I was trying to find steps but at first I did some backwards and have to start over. What would be the best loader to use?

You can install channels for faster access to loaders, but for homewbrew you just need to put it in the SD card.
CFG loader is the best compatible one I have used, there is also wiiflow.

Once you have installed cIOSes (remember: vWii not Wii), then I would recommend CFG just to test that your vWii is set up correctly for backup loading, then switch to WiiFlow because it has NAND emulation and is more compatible with some games.

For adding games to my hard drive with wiiflow, do I have to use the Wii Backup Loader, or can I just paste the iso to the root of the hard drive?

You can put the ISO on manually, but it should go in "HDD:\wbfs\gamename\gameid.wbfs", not the root. I would HIGHLY recommend using Wii Backup Manager because it automatically converts the ISO to WBFS (which saves GIGABYTES of space) and it puts the backup in the correct place for WiiFlow or CFG, and it adds some extra files that help WiiFlow work better.

You need to pass them though the backup loader.

EDIT: Mr.Mysterio cleared it up sooner :D.

Isn't game compataility dependent on the installed cIOS' ? (Thinking about COD: BO here for example).
I was always under the impression that Loaders are just a nice frontend to select your games etc.

You are mostly correct, but some of the features built into the loaders (like NAND emu, Cheats, etc) sometimes have compatibility issues. Of course, these issues vary between different implementations of the features. For instance, if I play Man vs. Wild with CFG Loader with Cheats, then the sound doesn't work. However, if I play Man vs. Wild with WiiFlow with Cheats, then the sound works just as well as without cheats.

I see that CFG Loader and WiiFlow gets mentioned here a lot. Did USB Loader GX proved itself to be the worst when it comes to compatability with certain features enabled?

I think it just is hard to use. I got so frustrated with the interface that I didn't test compatibility for very long... I think USBLoader GX works about as well as CFG, but WiiFlow has more features.

Are there any issues with games that are worth playing, though? I haven't come across any. And if you're running cheats (in a shovelware game, really?) well, sometimes cheats cause issues, it's not a problem with the loader but the cheat engine. Just use whatever loader you want, they're all fine.
