Hacking PSP Go cfw questions

Hi guys. Sorry if this is old or if there's other thread like this already.

I just bought a PSP Go. I got a refurbished cheap one that have all the buttons, analog, etc. intact and no repair or whatever stuffs. It's current firmware is 6.20 PRO-B10. Everything is good and all, I even put my old PSP games and savedata in it and everything works near-perfect.

But I have questions and issue. First, my old PSP (Fat) have a firmware of 6.60 PRO-C2. Is it possible to turn my PSP Go CFW into the same CFW that I have in my PSP Fat? I want my PSP Go to be 660 PRO-C2 as well if possible and make it permanent because I read in some tutorial sites that some CFW for PSP Go are not permanent.

Then here's my second issue. The Pause Game feature (or also known as Hibernation) doesn't seem to be working on any PSP / ISO games. But whenever I play any PS1 games (like Resident Evil 2, Crash Bandicoot, Harvest Moon Back to Nature, etc.) I can use the Pause Game feature and Resume Game later on without any problems. How can I make the Pause Game feature work on ISO games?


Again, my apologies if this has been discussed or if my concern is too long. I have no one I can trust in the net to turn to but the people I've grown up with here in GBAtemp.

Pro-C2 is not a good firmware it has a bug that causes error FFFFFF when trying to play official PSN eboots.
it's better to upgrade to PRO-C (fix3) imo.

The process goes like this:
Run "pro update" and press triangle to uninstall.
Reboot to original firmware.
Install Sony's official 6.60 update.
Install 6.60 PRO-C with pro update.

Make sure you deleted you seplugins folder, since 6.20 plugins that might be enabled will most likely cause trouble when rebooting to 6.60 PRO.
As far as i know you can't make it permanent.
I don't know about the start button problem, 50-50 chance updating the firmware will fix it i guess.

Thanks for the reply. Now I'm worried if I should switch to PRO-C or just stay with my current permanent PRO-B10 firmware. While the differences are not that big, I'm actually thinking that if I switch to another permanent CFW (6.60 PRO-C), the Pause Game / Hibernation feature might fixed itself. And now that I know there doesn't seem to be a permanent 6.60 PRO-C for the PSP Go, I'm having second thoughts.


By the way, you don't happen to be Nico from Nicoblog website do you? The ones with umm.. let's just say "PSP games" to share.

from my experience, the pause game feature in the go just doesn't sit right with some games. one naruto game would always freeze upon the next loading screen after loading the pause save. since its always hit and miss for me, I tend not to use it at all.

I thought theres no permanent firmware on psp go..
but one way or another, the few seconds it takes to start custom firmware after you power down/crash your psp really isn't that big a deal. not that you would power down the psp a lot anyway, using the slide plugin puts it into sleep mode when you close the go and thats really all you need.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong and I'm confused. Please correct me here.

From what I can understand of a PSP Go having no permanent CFW. When you turn off the PSP Go (like hold the Switch for 3-5 seconds) and when you turn it on, the Sony logo will appear. Doing that will make the CFW gone, making it OFW and you'll have to run that Recovery or PRO update whatever again to make the PSP Go CFW again. Another method of this is by pressing select on the XMB and choosing Shutdown Device, it's the same as turning off the PSP Go and when you turn it on, the Sony logo will appear again and you'll have to do that process again to make it CFW.

Because the PSP Go that I have, CFW 6.20 PRO-B10, I always turn off the PSP Go (press Select on XMB then choose Shutdown Device) in order to save up battery life since I will only use it when I'm home or if I'm free at work. When I turn on my PSP Go again, the whole thing is intact, no need for me to run any CFW recovery thingy or whatever it is and I can just play another game again.

Is there something I'm missing? That's why I thought there's a permanent 6.60 PRO-C CFW for the PSP Go because mine is permanent 6.20 PRO-B10. I can post screenshots if it could help solve my problem or issues >.<


EDIT: Is it also normal that my PSP Go turns on when I slide up (show the controller) even though I just turned it off (using the same Select on XMB then Shutdown Device)?

6.20 is permanent, 6.60 will not be permanent.

I see. Well, thanks a lot for the replies. I will think about going permanent because I'd like my PSP Go to stay the way it is. Though, that Pause Game feature sure is neat, I didn't need such before in my PSP1000 so I supposed I wont be needing it too from PSP Go.

i have 6.20 pro b10 permanent on my PSP go and i have no problems with it, and i dont miss the pause feature as i have no need for it.
