Hacking (4.x only) CIA CFW Complete Guide

I think all those games should work, though I've only personally played AC:NL, MH3U, and NSMB2 on my 4.5 cfw. Mario & Luigi Dream Team also works and has a legit .cia and is a game I personally enjoy.

Ah, perhaps you know more about this than I do. In my cfw M&L: DT legit .cia does not try to force any update, but I've never tried installing to sysNAND.

you can't, the end, the games are stored on a rom chip i.e read only memory, retail games are not reprogrammable, the best you can do is change the save, that is all the dongles can do as the save chip is the only writable chip in the cart, and before you ask, no the sake chip cant store a game its like 512kb maximum.....what game is that exactly $5 for 150 copies sounds absurdly cheap (looks like cars, or planes)

I'm pretty sure you are still launching CFW by holding the L button. Stop holding the L button, it puts CFW into a buggy mode that is only good for installing cias over local network with ctrclient.

(I made the same mistake when I first installed CFW...most of the guides don't tell you to stop holding the L button when pressing DS profile)

And you can't play the .cias on your sysNAND because they are not properly signed and need to have signature checks patched out (which cfw does).

I have already booted one time on CFW
It happened just after I did a 3D Calibration and changed language (for making difference between CFW and Sys)

That's probably the mistake, to make a difference just put a file named EMUNAND or something like that and it should be fine

Ok, I've reinstalled the CFW and I don't have this problem anymore
But it doesn't boot (1 on 13)

Because old ctrKeyGen.exe is not working with new launcher.dat

Recreate ncchinfo.bin with ctrKeyGen.py (python 2.7) or use old launcher.dat.

I'm having this same problem ""Too many/few entries, or wrong version ncchinfo.bin" " , but ctrKeyGen.py creates a ncchinfo.bin with only 2 entries for me:

*Main.exheader.xorpad
*Main.exefs_norm.xorpad

There's not a *Main.romfs.xorpad

The old ctrKeyGen.exe is creating a ncchinfo.bin twice larger and with more entries, including romfs, can anybody point me at an old working launcher.dat to use with ctrKeyGen.exe generated ncchinfo.bin ?
