Can I transfer sky3ds saves to gateway with this tool??

The very reason I requested this feature was to get my EUR Zelda ALBW save off of my Sky3DS onto my CIA of the US version that I created by dumping the tickets on my Zelda unit. I was able to extract the save with this (I even did it on my US N3DS -- figured I might as well test the region free while I was at it), and import it to the CIA by first dumping an empty CIA save with SaveDataFiler and then copying the files NTR dumped over to the correct "filer" subfolder, then importing the save back. So, yes, I can assure you that it works for this.

Now, if you were wanting to transfer to a ROM, there's a slight trick involved. Gateway loads saves based on the running title. So any save you want to work with has to be renamed to SDF's title (i.e. "000400000FF40A00.sav"). Had I desired to transfer to the ROM, I would have had to create a save by playing the ROM, rename it to that, select the ROM from the menu, go into SDF, and export from CTR Card (Y then A). Then copy the files over from NTR (they'll go in the folder with the shortened title ID inside the one named for the date and time it was created), then go back into SDF with your ROM selected, go to the SD tab, select your save, hit L+A, A once more, and it will go to the SDF save, so just rename "000400000FF40A00.sav" (note, those last two characters may change) to the title ID of your game, and it should work.

this doesn't appear to be working on my O3DS using NTR 1.0 I get a screen flash once, and it wont back up or restore (I'm trying to re-import my pokemon x/Y saves to 4.x, I successfully dumped them on my new3DSxl using this)

Incase anyone else came across this issue, I fixed it by deleting my save data while in 4.x.
Apparently, neither the save or restore functions work in NTR 1.0 if you still have data on your cart encrypted with 6.x or 7.x
I was able to re-encrypt my pokemon Y save in 4.x successfully.

Eh...can someone save me the trouble of buying a save dongle and upload the gateway OOT save in this format? Should be called save_0004000000033400 for the jp version. I dont have a Gateway but theres some things id like to see with their launcher. Also if anyone has a jp OOT save with Master Quest available that would be helpful.

Why not just run the Gateway launcher using Cubic Ninja?

http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Anti_Savegame_Restore

Features:
Backup savegame. Backup the savegame in game cards to microsd.

1 Install NTR CFW 2.0 or 1.0.
2 Copy plugin directory to microsd card.
3 Hold on L before starting game to backup savegames, Hold on R before starting game to restore savegames.
4 the screen will flashes green twice when it was finished, then Press A to continue the game.
The backup is stored at /save_%titleid% in microsd.
It is recommended to delete the plugin when you don't use it, because it will always flashes green once when starting any game, which is quite annoying.

does this work on any firmware version??

It is half the solution (injecting into cart). The other half (extracting from cia) is our old friend savedatafiler.

So could I import my 6.x encrypted retail save into a CIA, then extract it from the CIA and inject it into a cart to convert the retail save to pre-6.x encryption?

I don't know about that. Never even considered the possibility.

So, I am planning to use this plugin once cell9 makes CFW NTR 2.1 compatible with Old3DS and XL. How does the file output look once you extract save file from 6.x encrypted card type 1 retail card? (Screen shot on pc maybe?) Reason for this is because I read some people having success transferring saves file from 6.x encrypted card type 1 retail card to .cia version. Since save plugin can also import the save into retail card, I was thinking if moving save from .cia version to 6.x encrypted card type 1 retail card is possible as well. Is it true?

It uses SDF format so you can use SDF with the 3ds/cia files. I plan on doing some of this next week and reports are it works.
