Format a new SD card, make sure you're using the right template, write game, then save.
Tried this and still appears blank.

Are you using the rev01 or 00 rom?
Does it matter what the ROM is? Trying an original dump of mine.
Formatted a new microSD - added trimmed ROM to Diskwriter, restored saved. This time it booted but said save data is corrupt

I have a Sky3DS red button and OOT isn't in my 10 games list... so I can't get a working save because I need to patch the game to EEPROM NO
How can this be made to work on a legit oot?
Are you using a "scene" rip of OOT?
Wrong forum. This is for Sky3DS users. Legit users don't need this.
HAve mine, but figured it won't work with DiskWriter. Been using the US-Contrast release. The one time I got it to notice the save it complained about it and said it was corrupt. Let me check the rom info
That's fantastic. I suspect that by the time my oot arrives you'll have it fixed by then. Could you share how you came by the fix? I'm interested in the technical details.I need data from fellow GBATemp members. Updated OP with requirements.
Will a SaveDataFiler dump from the Rev01 scene release along with a dump from a nonworking cart be enough to make a fixed EUR save? I have one of the nonworking carts (Rev00)GW Fix Steps:
Step 1: Download SAV linked below
Step 2: Restore to card
Step 3: ??????
Step 4: PROFIT
SKY3DS Steps:
Step 0.5: Grab the template linked below and change your Diskwriter settings to use it.
Step 1: Grab a copy of OOT. Slap it on your Sky3DS.
Step 2: Grab the SAV for your region from below
Step 3: Restore SAV with Diskwriter
Step 4: ??????
Step 5: PROFIT
Thanks to Chuntington for helping me confirm my suspicions.

In order to fix EU and JP carts, I need SavaDataFiler dumps of WORKING and NON WORKING OOT carts. (both are needed). Shoot me a PM with them and I'll get to work .

Will a SaveDataFiler dump from the original ROM (should be the same as the working cart?) along with a dump from a nonworking cart be enough to make a fixed EUR save? I have one of the nonworking carts (Rev00)
I don't have CFW set up to make a SaveDataFiler dump of the cart right now, but I can do it later today.PM me your nonworking stuff.
It seems useful for those with legit carts that don't work and those that have both a Sky3DS and a Gateway.I might sound like a noob asking this but what's the point of doing this?
I wasn't using the contrast release to build the initial save. Working on it now. Gotta wait for my sysNAND to finish backing up
