Assuming your using Mac, it didn't work for me when doing it on my Mac. The 3DS shows up under network devices, but the authentication information always fails. In the event your using any type of Linux, I would love to hear your results.

i am using mac, i tried really fast to get it to work but i had to stop and get ready for stuff :) i can try to use windows later today - i think i read here that it uses samba?
nintendo really didn't make it 'mac' compatible? there are loads of apps that can make an ftp/web interface - why didn't nintendo do that, and give us a simple app to download for win/mac?

cant seriously get much higher, if it goes above the price of sky3ds they will never shift them and the idiots can just sit there dreaming that they will get $100 etc......only mugs pay the "mad rush" prices, after cubic ninja died down i got mine for £13....still steeper than the £2 it was selling for originally, but figured it was good to have and not too ridiculously priced

At least if your copy of Zelda doesn't work for this exploit.....you've still got a Zelda game to play!

does this mean we can also downgrade to 4.5 on new 3ds???
99% no. The lowest firmware for N3DS is 8,1. I'm sure someone who doesn't know what they are doing will do this in the next week though, and then you will have a definite answer.

So I just dumped my New3DS XL nand and 1.84 GB, wow.

So Emunand will take 2 GB instead of one.

wasn't there 2 different version of the n3ds nand? one with 1.84 and one with less than that?(i forget the actual amount)

From the looks of things, it just straight out doesn't work on Mac, at least from my experience. I would have loved a ftp setup, could have just connected like I do with the Cubic Ninja based FTP server. My guess is that the average user may have less understanding of FTP, even though it's (in my opinion) very easy to get the hang of.. Well, either that or they wanted it to be as lightweight as possible.. >.>

Am I the only one that is dissapointed about the promise that they made?

GATEWAY ULTRA 3.0 – PUBLIC BETA
...
– and a surprise feature that will be announced in the next update!
...

Still nothing :/

I think the surprise feature was the quick force shutdown on the Gateway menu (Down D-pad+B).

Idk about the rest of you guys but I'm sooo glad my conscience stopped me from buying a N3DS when GW said they would support it, and then stopped me again when Best buy refunded me my MM3DSXL and gave me $50 extra compensation. I had 2 3DS' and I sold one originally intending to buy a N3DS but I new it would be a hassle I'm not willing to put up with. I can live without the handful of exclusives. I'm sticking with the OG 3DS XL until a new exploit is found with way easier ease of access or until the next Nintendo handheld comes out.

What????Used ones here are already for 80$ and by friday it'll be over 120$get it now

For one thing, I'll effectively be paying £30+ to boot into Gateway mode (I have no interest in completing the game again when I've completed both the main master quests). I'd rather be patient and find a cheaper game, or wait until a different method comes out.

well i only have 1 sealed (for my collection) 1 im using and one a friend now want to borrow for a couple of weeks until prices die down a bit

Ah well that sucks, I'll continue to look for my own then :). On a completely irrelevant case, do you provide NAND mode services (I've been aware that you do) I have interest right now, but not quite ready to follow through yet :P

Nope they won't, it will just say that "this console is not supported".

There is no reason to be condescending. I am very aware of the phases, thank you very much, as I was apart of them since the beginning. If you were talking about the Wii in its early stages, then say so next time. The ONLY thing you mentioned was to look up how to hack a Wii. So please, in the future, do not talk at all unless you learn how to put things in proper context.
Then stop using end phase hack example to this early phase hack. It is unlikely the Gateway Team will be able to refine the zelda save hack in time before the next 3DS update.

My explaination to wii hack was in context.

sure i doubt the average 3ds user to have a ftp client installed :) but nintendo could have made a simple tool to do all that for us
i'll try to read more about it, it will be easier if i can simply use my mac
