France, Micromania.
Ordered on Tuesday, received it today.
Metallic Black, QEH1024, 9.0.

I made an account just to contribute to that topic that helped me decide whether I should buy a new 3DS XL now or not.

Do you guys want the serial number for my AU N3DSXL (Metallic Blue) ? It came with 9.0. I mean all AU ones came with 9.0, but if you guys want it. I received it last week from Play Asia :)

Just trying to help :)

I retunred the 9.5 system and got a New Black one elsewhere

QW4007 (Black)
9.0.0-20U

I know the info has been posted but just letting all know about my personal fine

Everyone who're reporting 9.5 on their devices. Is it possible that people may have returned their updated 3DS after reading that everything above 9.2 are screwed?
thats what i am thinking but i am just posting what i found

I can't find another logical explanation. 9.5 in stores already seems a bit too fast. I mean there are still 9.0 left in stores, and 9.4 are rarely seen. But who knows. Nintendo seems to be willing to do anything to stop even the slightest chance of homebrew and piracy, yet they are experts on leaving the door wide open for some reason.

I really think someone bought it and returned it because I was not expecting a 9.5 in the wild but who knows in this crazy world for all we know a Nintendo rep updated all the systems while in Walmart. But I wanted to report it even if it was a fluke just in case.

At least we know that there are some devices out there that might have 9.5, returned or not. And yours had a pretty high version number, so who knows? Did you notice anything with the box or the 3DS itself that might suggest it was returned? Mine came with a preinstalled demo (don't remember the name), which was removed when I formatted the 3DS. Someone returning it may have formatted it before, and therefore no demo?

i noticed with the US systems that a video demo to test out the 3d is pre-installed. its called 3D Visual Experience

The paper airplane demo definitely gets deleted if you format, so if yours didn't come with it, someone else had the unit before you

I bought 2 from best buy (ordered them online) this Wednesday 25 and got them today 2/27/2015.
