I'll work on it, I'm kinda worn out by all the details. EUR isn't as easy to categorize because of such a vast difference in regions

I've noticed that despite deleting everything on the included micro SD card, the system still frequently prompts to update the firmware. And if I go to system settings, system update (but don't start the update), the system asks if it can start the update and says that 'no internet connection is required.' Is it possible that the system has an updated firmware file stored on the NAND? As is I'm afraid to use the thing!

Just bit the bullet and got a black n3ds with QW4000 on ebay. I really hope that this guide is right and hopefully I get 9.0.0.20. that, or if gateway just decided to release an update saying "suprise, 4.5 n3ds support, lawl" I'd be happy either way

haha, what's funnier is that I put my pre-order in at the latest available with Gamestop's "secret in-store only" the Friday after they were all selling out. I was surprised reading the list here that mine was one of the lowest serials

NA New Red 3DS XL here (not Canada) with 9.0.0-20U, with serial QW4027. Not sure if they are all on 9.0.0-20 or not, but there are definitely 9.0 consoles above QW4025.

Related: how do I make sure I don't accidentally update? Should I format the microSD that came with it? Is it safe to play retail games and not have to worry about updates until Gateway releases the New 3DS XL support?
